Part 14 – Trinity Doctrine resourcesDid you know that the Catholic Faith is defined as the Anthanasian Creed which is what the Trinity Doctrine is. In other words, the Trinity Doctrine is the very definition of the Roman Catholic faith. This means that while many Protestant and Charismatic churches may believe this doctrine, they are defined as being Roman Catholic in as much as they agree to their creed and foundation. Of course they reject the Pope’s authority and many other doctrines, but have kept their main doctrine. The Roman Catholic Church’s creed is as follows:
Whosoever will be saved, before all things, it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith. Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled without doubt he shall perish everlastingly. And the catholic faith is this, that we worship one God in Trinity and Trinity in Unity, neither confounding the Persons nor dividing the Substance. For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is all one; the glory equal, the majesty coeternal.
Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father uncreate, the Son uncreate, and the Holy Ghost uncreate. The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the holy Ghost incomprehensible. The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Ghost eternal. And yet they are not three Eternals, but one Eternal. As there are not three Uncreated nor three Incomprehensibles, but one Uncreated and one Incomprehensible. So likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Ghost almighty. And yet they are not three Eternals, but one Eternal.
As there are not three Uncreated nor three Incomprehensibles, but one Uncreated and one Incomprehensible, so likewise the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Ghost almighty. And yet they are not three Almighties, but one Almighty.
So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not three Gods, but one God. So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Ghost Lord, and yet not three Lords, but one Lord.
For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity to acknowledge every Person by Himself to be God and Lord, so we are forbidden by the catholic religion to say, There be three Gods or three Lords.
The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone, not made nor created but begotten. The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son, neither made nor created nor begotten, but proceeding.
So, there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is before or after another; none is greater or less than another; but the whole three Persons are coeternal together and coequal, so that in all things, as is aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshiped.
Any person, therefore, that will be saved must thus think of the Trinity.
Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting salvation that we also believe faithfully the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the right faith is that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man; God of the Substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and Man of the substance of His mother, born in the world; Perfect God and perfect Man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting. Equal to the Father as touching His Godhead and inferior to the Father as touching His manhood; who although He be God and Man, yet He is not two, but one Christ; one, not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh, but by taking the manhood into God; one altogether; not by confusion of Substance, but by unity of Person.
For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man, so God and Man is one Christ; Who suffered for our salvation; descended into hell; rose again the third day from the dead; He ascended into heaven; He sitteth on the right hand of the Father, God Almighty; from whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies and shall give an account of their own works. And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting; and they that have done evil, into everlasting fire.
This is the catholic faith; which except you believe faithfully and firmly, you cannot be saved.”
So there you have it. The Trinity Doctrine is the very definition of the Roman Catholic faith and even though many who believe it may reject the Pope’s authority, nevertheless, they believe in the Catholic faith which is a different foundation to the one that Jesus built his Church on. That foundation can be found here.
Matthew 16:16-18
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.Can you see how much easier to understand is the foundation of the Church that Jesus builds compared to the Roman Catholic Church? And remember this, Jesus said in Matthew 11:29-30
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

–
Martin Luther in his day exposed many false teachings of the Catholic Church…And, if the doctrine of the Trinity is as ‘Pagan’ and ‘Un-scriptural’ as you make out – it would have been one of the very first things for Luther to condemn, in his 95 theses nailed to the Church door at Wittenberg…yet far from denying the Trinity, we find that he had studied the Scriptural basis for it extensively…and even preached sermons on the doctrine of the Trinity himself…!

–
This reveals why YOUR teaching is wrong… the doctrine you are building is not based on the Rock, because it doesn’t come from the revelation of Jesus Christ – but instead, from the carnal minds of uninspired men…the very reason WHY the church has become so divided in the first place…it has relied on ‘reason’ rather than ‘revelation’ to understand Scripture…!!!

(man v’s the Spirit – head v’s the heart – Pharisees v’s true disciples – meditation v’s logic)…December 26, 2013 at 8:59 pm#782203AdminKeymasterAgain, you are short on scripture and long on opinions. Your words are worthless because they deny what is written.
Peter said, “You are the messiah, the son of the living God”.
Jesus said, “blessed are you Simon Peter, for my Father in Heaven has revealed this to you. Upon this rock I will build my Church”.
So if my teaching about Jesus being the son of God and the messiah sent by the only true God is wrong, then so was Peter’s and the whole foundation of the true Church is wrong.
Your position leads to this conclusion, either you are right and Jesus and Peter were wrong or you are wrong. Objectively speaking both you and them could be wrong. But I believe that Jesus and Peter are right whereas you do not. Like the Pharisees you obviously believe you are of God, but your words betray you. If you oppose the words of the messiah and the apostles, then what are we suppose to think?December 28, 2013 at 4:49 pm#782204DavidLParticipantt8 – your teaching does not originate from God…but from your own reasoning.
December 29, 2013 at 10:22 am#782205AdminKeymasterOpinions are worthless. All the opinions of the Pharisees were worthless too. What is of worth are the scriptures. Jesus said the Pharisees didn’t know of himself even though the very scripture they read testified of him. Show me scriptures and I will listen. Give me an opinion and I will listen, but I will take it with a grain of salt.
Jesus said, “eternal life is this, to know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom he has sent”.
I am sure that many Pharisees wouldn’t have believed Jesus at his word, as you also do not.December 30, 2013 at 7:17 pm#782206DavidLParticipantWhen a person quotes Scripture for a wrong reason, it has no power to convict…only to deceive.
December 31, 2013 at 10:22 pm#782207AdminKeymasterUm no. To believe that he would have corrected all doctrines is to put your trust in man. The Reformation was not suppose to end, thus admitting that there was some distance to go regarding what the doctrine of Christ was.
May 2, 2014 at 2:27 pm#782208Saini MatekeGuestPsalms 118:22,Mark 12:10,Acts 4:11,Ephesians 2:20,Romans 9:33,1Corinthians 10:4 ALL these scriptures seem to be referring to Jesus Christ as rock/stone. Coming back to Matthew 16:16-18,was Jesus not referring to himself when he said ‘upon this rock I will build my church’ Also from 1Corinthians 3:10,11 we read” According to the grace of God which is given unto
me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and
another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how
he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid,
which is Jesus Christ”. - AuthorPosts
