At Matt 16:23 It says “But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.” Why do you think he “rebuked the spirit of Peter”.. or should I ask what do you mean by “he rebuked the spirit of Peter”.. based on that scripture.

It was not the human spirit of Peter.
Men are vessels.
When Jesus drove out demons he addressed the vessel they lived in.

Seeing Jesus from a distance he ran up and bowed down before him, and shouting with a loud voice he said
“What business do we have with each other, Jesus, son of the most High God? I implore you by God do not torment me!”
For Jesus had been saying to him
“Come out of the man, you unclean spirit”
And he was asking him
“What is your name?”
And he said to him
“My name is legion for we are many”
So you believe that Peter was possessed by Satan? and that is why he said “Get behind me Satan”? Are you saying Jesus was actually casting out a spirit, when he said “get behind me Satan”… ? Just need to make sure I understand what you are actually saying. Not at Mark…but at Matthew.

No but like all men occupied territory.
Only one was clean. The devil had nothing in him.
Like to the Jewish people being given Canaan and yet having to fight for it we must become overcomers just as Jesus Christ was.

Jesus had the all the spiritual gifts including the gift of discerning of spirits.1cor 12.10
He recognised the inspiration behind the words of Peter and dealt to the cause.
