The reason for this topic is to study this empire to see if it fits into Bible prophecy as part of the Beast in the Book of Revelation. Not to be confused with another similar topic, ‘The Islamic Empire’, this topic is solely about The Ottoman Empire and not the rise of Islam as the other topic.
This topic covers the rise of this empire and its effect around the Great Sea. Its possible importance in scripture is related to the fact that this empire conquered the Roman Empire during the Byzantine period. The empires that make up the Beast or the statue in the Book of Daniel conquered each other and were located around the Great Sea, the Mediterranean.

The Ottoman empire was an empire of contradictions. It was a war machine, yet it inscribed some of the fairest laws and produced some of the greatest minds in science and mathematics. It tolerated other religions besides Islam, yet it violently opposed them toward the end of its reign. It conquered the Roman Empire before it, spanned three continents, and lasted for 600 years.
