Where did I say that ? Infact Jesus was a Jew first and he taught the Jewish Monotheism than Pagan polytheism IMO.

    Hi GM,
Where did Jesus speak of this?
    God is one?

Sure and then he explained how scripture calls men gods-does this make you stumble?

So you cleverly want to skip bASICS BECAUSE THEY OFFEND YOU BROTHER ?

    hERE IS THE VERSE for Jesus words saying God is only one not two, three or many;

    Jn 5:44
“How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

    Jn 17:3

“And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent”.

    Mark 12:
28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. 33 And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”

Are they not sufficient for you to prove Jesus' belief in Jewish Monotheism ?

    Hi GM,
I agree. For us there is one God, the Father.
But you have to get over this 'theism' stumbling stone thing if you to read scripture honestly.

Is it stumbling you brother because of its rawness of truth ?

    Hi GM,
Grasp what our God is to us and our brother Jesus
but do not ignore the scriptures that speak of gods because of the wiles of theologians.

Those gods are 'so called gods' or false gods as told by St Paul I don't require them when I talk about the True God of the Bible.
Please see Paul's words in 1 Cor 8:
3 But if one loves God, one is known by him.
4 So about the eating of meat sacrificed to idols: we know that “there is no idol in the world,” and that “there is no God but one.”
5 Indeed, even though there are so-called gods in heaven and on earth (there are, to be sure, many “gods” and many “lords”),
6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom all things are and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and through whom we exist.

Please see the verse 4, “There is no God but One”

So I believe when we talk about the God of the Bible we should talk about the One and only God the Father and no one else.
This is what I was stressing here. I don't want to confuse any with “so called gods in heaven and earth” when there is only one True God the Father.

Sorry to bother you my brother
    Adam

    Hi GM,
Fine, that's where you are comfortable so lets leave it there..
You should not be frightened of names.
    They don't bite.

Thanks for such understanding, but I am not frightened certainly people are confusing others with those words saying there are also other gods. In fact Paul meant those words for the weak people who don't have this understanding on Monotheism saying “there is no God but One” who is the Father.

I think we better leave this deviation here from the Topic “man from heaven”

    thanks and love to you

    Hi GM,
Is a polytheist one who worships several gods?

Even a belief in existence of more than one God is Polytheism.

    Hi GM,
Do you call your master one?
    Jn10
34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

    35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Yes he is one and also called son of God; does that make Him God or does that spoil the view of Monotheism ?

    Hi GM,
So who said scripture makes him our God? So is Paul a polytheist too?

    1Cor8
5For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

Please don't bring the same topic again and again it proves nothing to me it is only for convincing the Pagans who believe in so called gods but for us there is only one God. I don't want any discussion on this brother. If you want want you can argue on the title of the thread otherwise I am stopping here.

    Thanks

    Hi GM,
So what does believe mean in your definition?
Does it not need to include worshiop but only head knowledge?

Would your defintion include a professor of Egyptology?
What of a professor of religious studies?

    Hi GM,
We worship and serve the same one true God.
We do not need labels so why do you need them?

    This is the definition of Polytheism ;

“Polytheism is belief in or worship of multiple gods (usually assembled in a pantheon) together with associated mythology and rituals”.

So you think I am having head knowledge, no problem my God knows me very well I don't need any human sympathy for not accepting any Polytheim or Arianism or Mormonism or trinitarianism.

    Thanks

    Please stick to scripture

But they are drawn from the same scriptures by human interpretations of them.
