Hi Is 1.18,
No but I am challenging you to look at agency.March 29, 2007 at 8:46 am#46537Is 1:18ParticipantMoses was used by YHWH in the capacity of an agent, and yet….
- He was not said to have fulfilled prophecy that YHWH made of Himself.
- OT passages that manifestly reference YHWH were not applied to Him.
- Divine titles were not assigned to Him.
- Prerogative and privileges of YHWH were not ascribed to Him.
- The divine name YHWH was not used to describe him.
- He did not exist in the “morphe” of God.
- It was not said of him that he was the exact representation of the Father's “hypostasis”.
- He is not sustaining the entrire created order by the word of his power.
- Every knee will not bow to him.
Seems strange. Why is this do you think?

NHThe term “Law of Agency” is not found in scriptures.
You see how foolish that statement can be?
Its like saying the term “Trinity” is not found in scripture!

The Order of Authority was understood by a gentile and Jesus praised him.Lk 7
“1Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.2And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
3And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8For I also am a man set UNDER AUTHORITY, having UNDER me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. “

July 23, 2007 at 2:20 am#61207BibliophileParticipantHi,
How about these scriptures. “they have…certainly come to know that I came out as your representative and they believe that you have sent me.” (John 17:18) Jesus is called the “Chief Agent.” (Acts 5:31) Also caompare John 7:29, 16:27; Acts 3:15; Hebrews 2:10.
Obviously there is no scripture that explicitly says the law of agency. However, I do believe the Bible implies it.
The Encyclopedia of the Jewish Religion by Werblowski and Wigoder states: “The main point of the Jewish law of agency is expressed in the dictum, a persons agent is regarded as the person himself. Therefore any act committed by a duly appointed agent is regarded as having been committed by the principle.”
Also The Dictionary of the Bible by McKenzie, a Catholic Jesuit Pries, says: “The servant of Yahweh is a light to the nations, an agent of salvation (Is 42:6; 49:6).”
What do you think?
July 23, 2007 at 2:21 am#61208BibliophileParticipantHey Nick,
I was gone for the weekend.
Where were we having that dicussion on Exodus 3:14, 15? I would like to continue it but I can't find it. Thanks.

Jesus commended the Roman for his faith which involved understanding of this principle.Lk7
6Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:7Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Only living in submission to our Lord can we approach our God.
Heb10
19Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,20By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21And having an high priest over the house of God;
22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

God is the source of all things.March 29, 2009 at 9:20 pm#125901NickHassanParticipantHi tt,
God is the Source.
But He often uses agents to do His work.September 23, 2009 at 10:58 pm#147174NickHassanParticipantHi,
I pasted this from t8 here too“God is the redeemer and Jesus is the agent of God's redemption.
2 Corinthians 5:19
that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.Jesus said, “take this cup from me, but not MY will but YOUR will”.
God willed it. Jesus obeyed.
Revelation 5:11-13
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they sang:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!” “April 12, 2012 at 7:33 pm#291869NickHassanParticipantHi,
This principle needs to be understood as it underlies the ways of God.
Jesus did not create but God did by his Spirit which is in Jesus Christ.June 9, 2018 at 6:34 pm#830516NickHassanParticipantTopical
