Gene, what do you make of this scripture:
REVELATION 20:6-8
“Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years. Now as soon as the thousand years have been ended, Satan will be let loose out of his prison, and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Ma′gog, to gather them together for the war. The number of these is as the sand of the sea.”We see from this scripture that “death has no authority” over those who will rule with Christ, the holy ones. They have become “immortal” as I said earlier. So, those who make up the kingdom, will not be turned away by Satan.
As the scripture says:
“Satan will be let loose out of his prison, and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth”
But Gods “Kingdom is no part of the world.” Those who make it up won't be mislead.david

Having a chat with Matthew may helpMatthew 13:11
Jesus answered them, ” To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.Matthew 13:24
Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, ” The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.Matthew 13:31
He presented another parable to them, saying, ” The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field;Matthew 13:33
He spoke another parable to them, ” The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.”Matthew 13:44
” The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.Mt13.45
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls,Matthew 13:47
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet cast into the sea, and gathering fish of every kind;Matthew 13:52
And Jesus said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”Matthew 18:3
and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.Matthew 18:23
“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves.Matthew 20:1
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.Matthew 22:2
” The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son.Matthew 25:1
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.January 15, 2009 at 6:10 am#117685GeneBalthropParticipantQuote (david @ Jan. 15 2009,14:44) Gene, what do you make of this scripture: REVELATION 20:6-8

David…….So where is that any different then what i was saying, People living in the thousand year will experience a peaceful world but it comes crashing down at the end, the only one that stay faithful to God is Jesus and the Saints, why> because God was in them and thats where the true Kingdom of God rules in the Heart and minds of His chosen ones. But the bigger understanding is to know why God does this in the first place, whats His point. Is it not to show that without God in You , your cannot maintain doing right ,because as soon as evil comes you will be influenced to do it, all failed except the Saints and Jesus because GOD'S Kingdom was in them. God must be (IN) you in order to maintain righteousness. thats the point he was making in the thousand year reign of Christ.love and peace to you and yours………………gene
January 16, 2009 at 3:35 am#117853davidParticipantQuote Hi david,
Having a chat with Matthew may helpHi Nick. So, when someone asks you what the kingdom of God is, how do you answer them? Or is this something not granted.
Matthew 13:11
Jesus answered them, ” To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.Being that the Messianic Kingdom is one of the main themes of the Bible, if not the main thing, we should all not only want to discuss it, but have some grasp of what it is.
Otherwise, it makes it hard to actually preach about it, does it not?
MATTHEW 24:14
“And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.”January 16, 2009 at 3:50 am#117856davidParticipantQuote People living in the thousand year will experience a peaceful world but it comes crashing down at the end, the only one that stay faithful to God is Jesus and the Saints, It (the Bible) doesn't say that the only ones who stay faithful to God is Jesus and the holy ones. Obviously, Jesus and the holy ones, those who have already been granted immortality will stay faithful. But the subject who they rule over and judge, will be judged, either worthy of life, or not.
“Or do YOU not know that the holy ones will judge the world?” (1 cor 6:2)
The ones doing the judging of course have already been granted life eternal. And like a jury of our peers, those ones, who have lived on earth (even as Jesus has) will be in a position to know what we undergo, and to use compassion when possible, while judging.
Quote Is it not to show that without God in You , your cannot maintain doing right ,because as soon as evil comes you will be influenced to do it, all failed except the Saints and Jesus because GOD'S Kingdom was in them.
I'll have to see the scripture Gene, but no such scripture exists that says “all failed” except the holy ones and Jesus. It just doesn't exist.January 16, 2009 at 5:40 am#117862davidParticipantWe have several scriptures explain clearly that the kingdom is a government.
And we have one scripture which can be taken to suggest otherwise (if you ignore the context and translate it wrong.)
GENE, your words from another thread:
“Don't you think that such a issue would have been a big part of the gospel, and thoroughly explained in great detail if it were true.”
Yet, you've provided exactly one scripture, a scripture that modern Bibles largely translate to give another meaning, one that doesn't contradict the rest of scripture.
January 19, 2009 at 12:59 am#118219NickHassanParticipantHi david,
This may help.
Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.Matthew 21:5
Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.Matthew 12:28
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.Matthew 21:34
And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.So all the preceding time on earth and the Word of God had pointed to the fulfillment when God overthrew the god of this world and established a kingdom of light on earth. Jesus the appointed king came and preached repentance and rebirth from above taking this message to the chosen people. God blessed His son with His Spirit and did all manner of works of healing and restoration of order on earth among men.
Those who heard him and obeyed came to share in that Spirit when he returned to heaven to await the growth and development of that kingdom and the assembly of the elect. Now he soon will come back and bring them back with him to rule on earth and complete the restoration and then he will hand the kingdom back to God.

Can we improve on what Jesus said?January 19, 2009 at 6:20 am#118253davidParticipantQuote Hi David,
Can we improve on what Jesus said?Nick, Jesus said: “To YOU it is granted to understand the sacred secrets of the kingdom of the heavens, but to those people it is not granted.
So, some people would understand. Others would not.
But…both of these groups of people can quote scripture. The question is: Can you quote scripture that gives a clear idea of what the kingdom of God is. You quoted some scriptures. Which one of them makes plain what the kingdom is? And what does it make plain?
You're quoting scripture. But I'm asking you what you think the scripture you're quoting means.
Considering how important a topic this is, should we not all have a clear idea in our mind about what the kingdom of God is?
January 19, 2009 at 9:07 am#118257NickHassanParticipantHi david,
The kingdom has a huge number of aspects so King Jesus drew word pictures to illuminate each one.January 19, 2009 at 4:21 pm#118264GeneBalthropParticipantDavid………Kingdom is a word and it simply means where a Will is exercised over other wills, your making it much more then its simple meaning. Jesus prayed (“thy Kingdom Come, how? THY (WILL) BE DONE.) A kingdom is where the Kings WILL is Done. And God's will is done in the hearts and minds of His Children. GOD was ruling in Jesus' mind and heart God's will was being done (IN) Jesus, and Jesus was a subject to that kingdom by the subordinates of His will. If you have that mind in you then the Kingdom of GOD is within you. God's true is from inside out, not outside in. IMO

Jesus described the earthly style of rule.
Mt20
25But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.26But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
But King Jesus rules over those in submission to his Spirit.
January 19, 2009 at 10:14 pm#118305GeneBalthropParticipantNick……..you error is you think Jesus' spirit is what rules, when in fact its GOD the FATHERS Spirit the is really ruling both in Jesus and His true brethren. One and the Same spirit in Him and all GOD gives it to. You constantly want to make it about Jesus and push the FATHER out. God's kingdom is one Spirit in all His subjects including Jesus. Thats what it means by Christ in you (not Jesus) but the Christos or anointing of God, the same one that was in Jesus. Many mix up the word Christ or Christos with Jesus , they are two different things Ones the man the other is the anointing in Him. It's not about Jesus (OWN) Spirit , it about the Spirit of GOD the FATHER in HIM. Give GOD the GLORY, not flesh.

The Spirit of Jesus is the Spirit of the FatherMatthew 10:20
For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.January 19, 2009 at 10:27 pm#118311GeneBalthropParticipantNick………you have it right it is the SPIRIT of THE FATHER, that why what Jesus says is the same as the Father, But some times i have a problem of People only referencing Jesus and never the FATHER who GIVES the SPIRIT in the First place, most Churches never even mention the FATHER but give all His GLORY to Jesus, something Jesus never did. WE are to look to Jesus , but unto the GLORY of THE FATHER, many seem to forget that Part.

January 19, 2009 at 10:29 pm#118312NickHassanParticipantGb,
We have a similar problem with folk disrespecting and ignoring Jesus and claiming just a special relationship with God while Jesus just becomes a mere brother and not the Lord and King who is the head of the church on earth.January 19, 2009 at 10:45 pm#118315GeneBalthropParticipantNick………personally I have not seen that as a problem but Just the Oppisite is what i see in all the Churches Here in fact it all about Jesus and the Father is never talked about except in passing thoughts, something Jesus (NEVER) did, Go back and look at you posts and see how many times you Glorified the Father Nick. And you will fine You hardly ever do, and your not alone either hardly no one does anymore. Even though it is the FATHER who Heals us and Bless us and Saved us and Raises us From the dead, Things no one (including Jesus ) can do , so why is He never Glorified, But by a few and one of those is Jesus Himself. You say you believe in Jesus then GIVE The FATHER the GLORY at least some of the time. Do what He did and look to who He Did and Glorify who He did. Did Jesus not say “for i have GLORIFIED (YOU) on the earth”. Jesus isn't being shoved out of anything To the point the FAther is treated like he doesn't even exist. When Jesus returns the point will be come very obvious and clear. When He denies all those who trumpet his name and deceive many by doing that. Let Glorify the FATHER as OUR brother the KING DOES. And the blessings of the FATHER will come to us too.IMO
