    Charles,

Mention the above scripture, justifies NOTHING, UNLESS YOU PICK ANY VERSE I POSTED AND EXPAND ON IT IN RELATION TO THE SCRIPTURE YOU POSTED!

1 Corinthians 2:10 is evidence that no one, not even Jesus, knows God as well as the Spirit of God knows God unless the Spirit reveals those things to that one. Jesus Christ knows God only because the Spirit of God revealed the deep things of God to him. In many cases when the Son is mentioned the Spirit God gave his servant fits better than the human being that was given the Spirit. Jesus is the Son of God because God gave him his Spirit.

Matthew 12:18Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

Nick tells people this often though in different words.

    AndrewAd,

More great revelations from Carmel! If God has a sanctified image and this image is Christ, then this image is God! it’s no graven or molten image but rather a true Son in the form of the Father, which is thus truly God.

Your logic is invalid as it does not follow from your premises that Jesus is the one true God.

Those that live by the Spirit are the sanctified image of God and yet according to you they are not the one true God.

Colossians 3:10Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

10 and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

1 Corinthians 6:11Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

    Hi,

    1cor 15.40f

“There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one and the glory of the earthly is another.

There is one glory of the sun , and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars, but star differs from star in glory”

The Sun and the moon, are faithful witnesses[Ps 88. 36-37] in the sky.

Both are large lightgiving bodies seen in the sky from earth.

    But they differ.

The sun is far larger and gives heat as well as light burning constantly day after day. It is unapproachable in power.

The moon only gives light and it’s arrival in the night sky from any one point of view is inconstant but men can walk on it.

And the effectiveness of the moon as a light source is only because of the sun.

It only can reflect light as it is not the source of that light.

Yet men want to make the moon another sun.

    Hi KW,

One of the most dangerous behaviours of those who are unspiritual when they learn of Jesus is that they think God is a mere man.

“they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man..”

Rom 1. 18-25 gives fair warning of the response by our God.

    Nick,

That is what a person’s when they choose to believe that God can be tempted by evil in any circumstance.

Bible study is good – but our intellectual understanding can never replace the revelation given by the Spirit…
If you’re confused about Text – why not ask Him to reveal Himself to you.
Yes, many are called ‘theos’ – but isn’t it obvious to you that Christ is called more than ‘a god’…!?!?!

DavidL, understanding what God is telling us is important.

And the Spirit is not going to say that there is one God the Father and one Lord the Lord Jesus Christ, and then also say that there are three who are God and then call God THEY etc.

And as for Christ being more than ‘a god’. What said here proves your ignorance on my teachings. First understand what it is I am teaching regarding the use of theos outside of the Father who is the one true God before critique. I shouldn’t even have to tell you this, but a wise servant of our Lord Jesus Christ does not misquote others and critique things that a person has never said. A wise servant does not bear false witness or intentionally break any commandments of God.

    • For the Lord thy God is one God.
    • For us there is one God the Father.
    • You shall not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

What’s funny is the actual image you use of Jesus,

Wrong Board Bod. No one here uses these images as Jesus or thinks they are pictures of what Jesus looked like.

Were you meaning to post this in a Catholic forum?

the image of the image? Curious as to where is that written. I remember reading a scripture once that seemed to say this, but cannot remember where.

Yes, we are made in the likeness of the image of God. So an image of an image sounds right. Of course that still makes us an image.

The head of the woman is the man, the head of the man is Christ, and the head of Christ is God.

Is the woman the image of the man?

And as for Christ being more than ‘a god’. What said here proves your ignorance on my teachings.

Maybe you would like to clarify your teaching for us then..?

This is what you said about Christ and theos in your attempt to explain John 1:1

In fact, the word ‘theos’ and ‘elohim’ in scripture are used in reference to God (YHWH), Christ, Man, angels, Satan and idols. So when we see the word ‘theos’ or ‘elohim’, we should ask ourselves what kind of god is being referenced. The god of this age? The Most High God? The Almighty God? The mighty god? A false god? A human? An angel? We must also understand that the word ‘theos’ proceeded by the article (the) is talking of a noun and without the article, it can be an adjective or used to describe or qualify.

You claim here that Christ is called a god – just as men, angels, and Satan etc. are called gods…

    On this thread you state:

Further, many are called ‘theos’ and are not the one true God. You ignore this because it is convenient for you to do so. This is not an honest approach. To receive truth, your heart must be true.

So my honest response to you is –

Yes, many are called ‘theos’ – but isn’t it obvious to you that Christ is called more than ‘a god’…!?!?!

    Hi davidl,

By OBVIOUS do you mean it is revealed?

    Or just a LOGICAL DEDUCTION

For us there is ONE GOD.

    Hi davidl,

    No.

For us there is one God and one Lord Jesus Christ.

    Your inspiration is not divine

    DavidL,

I claim that the Hebrew people are gods because they received the Word of God but that does not mean that they are the one true God as god is merely a word that has many different meanings.

Nevertheless, I believe Jesus Christ is the human being in whom God lives through the Spirit and the way for all others to have the Spirit dwell in them.
