Hi DK,
David's words?
Do you hold to your doctrinal roots here?October 15, 2008 at 6:59 pm#110401dirtyknectionsParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Oct. 16 2008,06:50) Hi DK,

I hold only to scripture…and what can be seen from scripture..I do happen to agree with david on this matter tho..but as can be seen from my posts..my drawn conclusions arive from a different thought process

So we can safely assume from inference and our experience?
That is as good as scripture?October 15, 2008 at 7:16 pm#110403dirtyknectionsParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Oct. 16 2008,07:05) Hi DK,

inference? depends on the subject…but what i have written can be clearly seen and proven..if not..show me where from scripture i am wronfOctober 15, 2008 at 7:17 pm#110404dirtyknectionsParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Oct. 15 2008,18:12) Hi david,
When I was beginning in the ways of the Spirit I was in a group that included a Maori man who was very cynical about this gift of tongues given by the laying on of hands. He was convinced however when what may have sounded unintelligible to us he recognised as the OUR FATHER spoken in Maori.
is this not “assuming from experience”October 15, 2008 at 7:28 pm#110405NickHassanParticipantHi DK,
No scripture says the gifts have ceased.
So why do you?October 15, 2008 at 7:31 pm#110406dirtyknectionsParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Oct. 16 2008,07:28) Hi DK,

So why do you?
but scripture does say…just read my postOctober 15, 2008 at 7:34 pm#110407NickHassanParticipantHi DK,
Is it written?
Or because you did not see the gifts mentioned later you assumed they had ceased?
Is that wise?October 15, 2008 at 7:43 pm#110408dirtyknectionsParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Oct. 16 2008,07:34) Hi DK,

here is a better question..explain how my post is wrongOctober 15, 2008 at 7:45 pm#110409NickHassanParticipantHi DK,
Not a better question. You state something is true but cannot prove it from scripture.
The challenge is to show it written before you can make such statements.
October 15, 2008 at 7:50 pm#110410NickHassanParticipantHi DK,
We could spend all day trying to disprove claims such as Michael is Jesus but as such is not written so what is the point?Same with your claim -it is not up to us to disprove it but for you to establish it.
October 15, 2008 at 8:53 pm#110411NickHassanParticipantHi DK,
If I made a statement that Peter was Moses should I substantiate it first or ask you to disprove it?
BTW I make no such statementAugust 30, 2009 at 11:29 pm#143204NickHassanParticipantFor evah

If they are, that would be a miracle. 🙂July 7, 2011 at 7:36 am#251231davidParticipantAnd how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
If tongues still existed, wouldn't we see this, as above?
It seems we only see people babbling incoherently. And as fun as that is for some people, how does it compare to the above?
Why do we not see examples today of what happened above?July 7, 2011 at 1:54 pm#251250terrariccaParticipantQuote (david @ July 08 2011,01:34) Quote (terraricca @ July 07 2011,07:27) all are the gift of tongues still here today??

davidat the Pentecost ;Ac 2:7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
Ac 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?I would like to bring to your attention that the apostles spoke in there language but that what the people heard was in there own language,is it not ?
