EdJ.You are only focusing on that one word.
The rudiment will be destroyed at the coming,that is when the cities of the nations are falllen,they will be heaps.Then 1000yrs later the earth itself will be melted down;
this is when a new earth and a new heaven will be created.Then only then, God will come down to earth.Peter was explaining the overall picture,cant you understand. Decerning scriptures brother,is needed.
