Hi LM and welcome!
If not men, then what do you think they are? I've never really pondered this to be honest.
Glad you're here
June 10, 2007 at 4:36 am#55112lamontreParticipantThanks. I guess they are “elders”. I am sure that John was just as confused, but he simply labeled them as was revealed.
All I know is that they aren't redeemed men, and they don't represent the church.

Man – Lord of all the HumansThen where is the Lord of all the Sea Animals??
Pyou are right but the eagle and fish was created the same day ,

Hi P,
Why 24?
Why only 24?
Why does it not say men?
Why could John not identify them as individual men as he had done when Jesus was transfigured?
What right do men have to be in heaven? The Son of man said he was the only one who had been there.
Nthe 24 elders are a representation of the 24 high priest who served in the temple each for 15 days ,this made 24 elders (high priest for the year)

Hi Nick:My point is that based on these scriptures, the elders are men.
Also, what is the definition of “elder” as it relates to someone in the church?

The 24 elders, who are they?Mat.19:28. And Jesus said unto them, verily I say unto you, that ye which have followed me,in this generation when the son of man shall sit in his throne of his glory,YE ALSO SHALL SIT UPON 12 THRONES,JUDGING THE 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL.
That is part of the mystery answered.
The other 12. I suppose is non of our business.
Just as Jesus told Peter, concerning judas.
