The 14 Commandments of the JEHOVAH Witnesses Organization; are there really 14?
These are based entirely on the teachings found on Page 122 of ‘What does the bible [really] teach?'1) Thou shalt have none other gods before JEHOVAH.
2) Thou shalt not make thee any graven image.
3) Thou shalt not take the name of JEHOVAH thy God in vain.
4) Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as JEHOVAH thy God hath commanded you.
5) Honor thy father and thy mother.
6) Thou shalt not kill.
7) Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8) Thou shalt not steal.
9) Thou shalt not Lie.
10) Thou shalt not covet .
11) Thou shalt not associate with drunkards.
12) Thou shalt not give or accept blood transfusions.
13) Thou shalt not participate in politics.
14) Thou shalt not do recreational drugs (including tobacco). In the Name of יהוה האלהים(JEHOVAH GOD) YÄ-hä-vā hä ĔL-ō-Hêêm

So what?
I think the point is that the bible has 10 or so commandments and the JWs have added some.I think the message is that the JWs add to the requirements and hence the additions are probably irrelevant.
Hi T8,I wonder what David thinks?

December 22, 2009 at 11:49 pm#166011davidParticipantHi Ed.
I have no idea where you got this from.
It was definitely not from page 122 of that book. I have that book. There is no list of commandments or anything like that. There is a box that is called: “Shun what Jehovah hates.”
The first few things in that box, for example say this exactly:
“Manslaughter.–Exodus 20:13; 21:22,23
Sexual immorality.
–Leviticus 20:10,13……..”etc.
There is no mention of “commands.”
Your list is somewhat ridiculous in that (although there are 14 things mentioned) they don't really at all match what is in the book.
Look at your number 4:
Quote 4) Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as JEHOVAH thy God hath commanded you. Do you even think JW's “keep the sabbath”?
Ed, be more careful about the anti-Jw sites you visit. Some of them at least are half believable.
For the record. We don't have “14 commands.” This is a made up thing. That box did deal with 14 things that Jehovah shuns. There are many more than 14, I presume.

T8, again, this is a made up thing. I could just as easily make up a list of T8 commands, based on what you have said. It's ridiculous.December 22, 2009 at 11:57 pm#166023terrariccaParticipanthi irene
Christ is;Mat 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. what you think this meansDecember 22, 2009 at 11:58 pm#166025davidParticipantHere is what page 122 of that book actually has on it:
Box/Pictures on page 122, 123]
SHUN WHAT JEHOVAH HATES
Manslaughter.—Exodus 20:13; 21:22, 23.
Sexual immorality.—Leviticus 20:10, 13, 15, 16; Romans 1:24, 26, 27, 32; 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10.
Spiritism.—Deuteronomy 18:9-13; 1 Corinthians 10:21, 22; Galatians 5:20, 21.
Idolatry.—1 Corinthians 10:14.
Drunkenness.—1 Corinthians 5:11.
Stealing.—Leviticus 6:2, 4; Ephesians 4:28.
Lying.—Proverbs 6:16, 19; Colossians 3:9; Revelation 22:15.
Greed.—1 Corinthians 5:11.
Violence.—Psalm 11:5; Proverbs 22:24, 25; Malachi 2:16; Galatians 5:20.
Improper speech.—Leviticus 19:16; Ephesians 5:4; Colossians 3:8.
Misuse of blood.—Genesis 9:4; Acts 15:20, 28, 29.
Refusal to provide for one’s family.—1 Timothy 5:8.
Participation in wars or political controversies of this world.—Isaiah 2:4; John 6:15; 17:16.
Use of tobacco or so-called recreational drugs.—Mark 15:23; 2 Corinthians 7:1.On the page before, it says this:
“This is what the love of God means,” wrote the apostle John, “that we observe his commandments.” If you love Jehovah with your whole heart, you will find that “his commandments are not burdensome.”—1 John 5:3.
18 What are Jehovah’s commandments? Some of them involve conduct that we must avoid. For example, note the box on page 122, entitled “Shun What Jehovah Hates.” There you will find listed conduct that the Bible clearly condemns. At first glance, some practices that are listed might not seem so bad. But after meditating on the cited scriptures, you will likely see the wisdom of Jehovah’s laws. Making changes in your conduct may be the greatest challenge you have ever faced. Yet, living in a way that pleases God brings great satisfaction and happiness. (Isaiah 48:17, 18)So, as it says, these are examples of conduct that the Bible condemns.

Christ is a Jew and did keep the Sabbath. We are not. We are Gentiles. Read all of Romans and Galatians and you will see what we are under. And I gave you Exodus 31:16-17 Are you Jewish, if yes then you are under that Law and all of the Law. Incuding all the washings etc.

eb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Heb 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
Heb 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.some bible show sabbath for rest. same thing

Hi AllI find it very interesting that Ed accuses me of attacking the brothers and yet he creates a thread just for that very cause.
