bd,alas, your response to my post does reveal certian qualities you lack, a comparision was being discussed with the form of writing with the koran/catholic bible, how they are similiar in form, also comparing icons, traditions, customs.
you are in the understanding how to answer a question, while still be able to state your opinion yes?
to state you in the process of learning these techquines and are not quite certian at the moment, is alright, for this to be the case then please accept my apologies.
There is no such thing as the catholic Bible, the Bible is the Bible a collection of books. The Quran is not a collection of books.
If you thought Islam was agreeable to Catholocism you would not be so against it because Catholics are Christians and you believe in 99% what Catholics believe.
Catholics belive that God came in the flesh and died for man
Islam has no such belief
January 4, 2011 at 3:11 am#231705princessParticipantcomparing religions, you find similiarities. you are comparing beliefs than comparing religious practice.
yes there is such a thing as the catholic bible and it differs from the christian bible, have you had many dealings with catholic faith.
i know islamic faith does not believe in such as the christians do, you have taught this well enough, see bd, you are the islamic spokesperson,
however i still do not understand the tatic of using the christian text intermingled with the arabic text, can you expand on this teaching method.
January 4, 2011 at 8:10 am#231738kerwinParticipantTo all,
Some things are symbols to teach adherents the error of their ways. If one sees a bull being stoned then one will strive to avoid doing those things that will get one stoned. The meat of the bull is also considered “unclean” in that it cannot be eaten like unclean meat. Thus the bull presents a living creature who has corrupted even its flesh by its actions. Jude speaks of humans doing the same.
I believe if I remember correctly that the owner is also punished but I have not checked for sure.

You seem to have some things a little mixed so let me try to clarify. Catholics are Christians, Protestants are Christians who Protested some behaviours of the “Church ” and became protestors i.e. protestants most all other “Christian” Churches are derived from that Mother Church i.e. Catholic(Universal)Arab is not a religious term it is an ethnic term there are millions of Arab Christians and Jews as well as Muslims. The largest population of Muslims are not in an Arabic country but Indonesia.
Muslims do not believe that Christianity has a seperate text than them because Muslims believe that the Bible is the Book that came before The Quran and it is a part of their Holy Scriptures as well.
I hope that helps
January 5, 2011 at 1:08 am#231908princessParticipantthen it is most evident that muslims are catholic too, when religions combine, it is well known that throughout history that each bring a little of their god to the table, split them up, combine their powers, choose one to be the most powerful.
unless this is a long practice islam using the catholic bible, i really cannot seperate what is known to occur.

you always use this one with Stuart, why not try something new, BD, you see a muslim man beating his wife with a rod, do you entertian the idea of joining him, helping her or just keep going forward.let me know, you response should be quite interesting.
It would be a crime and a very unusual thing to see, no different then a Christian man doing the same thing.
Hi Princess,If they are not obedient, beat them: sura 4:34
muslims are allowed to lie, so you must always question what BD says about islam!
Enjoy!
January 5, 2011 at 2:41 pm#232031princessParticipanti have noticed edj, that the islam belief is a very physical belief, very little spiritual is involved. when you remove the fear you have of the faith and really start tearing it apart, it is very similiar to others, which by my understanding this cannot be so when truth is a desire of your heart.
thank you though edj for the reference, it was helpful.
take care of yourself edj,, much love

Muslims read the bible whether it is king James or the New world translation the Bible doesn't differ that drastically one from the other, The Catholic Bible simply adds the Apocrophy books I usually read the king James version. There is no concept of “gods” in Islam there is only GOD and HE is ONE GOD, not a triune or any other formula.
HE is God THE UNIQUE

First of all STU you are being deceptive it is obvious that the verses are talking about a personal issue inside the home where there is serious issues at hand notice the sequence before any corporal punishment the Man first even give up sleeping with his wife which is brilliantly placed in the sequence because as we know in America and in most places a man will fight with his wife physically and then want sex from her even forcing her.So if a man is still having great affection for his wife there will be no conflict that rises to the level of a punishable offence and if it does get to that point it does not mean “Beat” as STU is making it to sound it would be how you would spank a 2 year old very lightly to show disapproval.
The verses make it clear that to go beyond that is evil so no “rod” unless we take that to mean the same type of rod that the bible says to use on the child. “Spare the rod spoil the child”

What do you mean “physical belief” and how is your belief more spiritual when it is based on Physical Sacrifice and not Mercy?Which is more Spiritual Mercy or Sacrifice. Muslims depend on the Mercy of God you depend on the Sacrifice of the Messiah and you do not believe that God could save or redeem the Messiah from being killed or crucified because you believe you're entire salvation depends on that physical act
January 5, 2011 at 6:32 pm#232058princessParticipanttriad belief is not part of me ither.
you cannot apply a human character to the divine, not possible, no matter how much humans want to. i do not consider divinity, purity, chartiable, love to be male or female, no gender can be attach to such things.
i believe this teaching of calling god a man is a form of placing men above woman due to man insecurities with woman. which is most common practice in most religions.
the kjv is not a favorite of mine, however bd, how long has the islam faith taken the kjv into consideration, another words, have they read this since it come about or did islam accept the text at a later date?
thanks for all you patience bd.

Princess,The Perfect God created us with Human Character and teachs us with principles and moralities that are not from us the Carnal, but from above.
In fact, we are proportional to the character of God.
We get Angry, God gets Angry. We Love, God Loves.
whats the Difference? Perfection sets that boundry.God has a holy Anger which is Perfect, and God love is perfect as well. Ours is imperfect and faulty that causes consequences within our flawed character.
A Perfect man in no way is above Woman who is perfectly joined togethor in the bond of a Perfect Love that can only come from above.
Maybe you lack understanding about what “Those who believe that God came as a Man” actually believe. So you make a faulty conclusion about something you dont quite understand.
If God did come as a Man, (that he has full power to do so, who can deny him such a ability if he simply chose to)
Who would be his Bride? his People would be.In Fact, a Man is not whole without his beloved bride.
We are his beloved, Princess.
This is not a insecurity “of men who teach to place men above woman due to man inseccruities with woman which is a commmon practice in most religions”
instead this is about The God almighty story about his beloved bride (His people) and what he did to set them free once and for all. Like Hosea.Sorry to but in.

No problemIt's not just the KJV it can be any bible but they will mainly focus on the Psalms, The Torah(first five books) and the Gospels.
They may study all the other parts but in the Quran these are the ones mentioned as prominent.
We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and solomon, and to David We gave the psalms.
( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #163)Lo! We did reveal the Torah, wherein is guidance and a light, by which the prophets who surrendered (unto Allah) judged the Jews, and the rabbis and the priests (judged) by such of Allah's Scripture as they were bidden to observe, and thereunto were they witnesses. So fear not mankind, but fear Me. And My revelations for a little gain. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed: such are disbelievers.
( سورة المائدة , Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #44)If they had observed the Torah and the Gospel and that which was revealed unto them from their Lord, they would surely have been nourished from above them and from beneath their feet. Among them there are people who are moderate, but many of them are of evil conduct.
( سورة المائدة , Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #66)P.S. God is not a man nor is that taught in Islam only genders are male and female this is why it is said that God has no Son in Islam because only Physical beings “Beget”. Islam believes that God created Jesus by Power and Command of His Holy Spirit.
It would be more clear to say “HU” than “He” or “She” becuse HU means “IS” ALLAH HU AKBAR= God is GREAT even in Hebrew God can be referred to as “HU”
