TO GOD BE THE GLORY
1 To God be the glory great things He has done, so loved He the world that He gave us His Son.
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin, and opened the life-gate that all may go in.CHORUS
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father to Jesus His Son, and give Him the glory great things He has done.2 O perfect redemption the purchase of Blood, to every believer the promise God;
The vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.CHORUS
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord………3 Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, and great our rejoicing in Jesus the Son,
But purer and higher and greater will be, our wonder our transport when JESUS WE SEE.CHORUS
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice,
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, let the people rejoice.
O come to the Father to Jesus His Son, and give Him the glory great things He hath done.Peace and Love Irene

1 Morning has broken like the first morning, black bird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise to the singing, praise to the morning,
Praise for the springing fresh from the word.2 Praise for the first rain fall, sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dew fall, and the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the first garden,
Praise in completeness were His feet pass.3 Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning,
Born of the first light, Edon say play,
Praise in elation, praise every morning,
God's recreation of the new day.Peace and Love Irene

1 All creatures of our God and King,
Lift up your voice and sing, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam, Thou silver moon with softer gleam,
O Praise Him, O Praise Him, Alleluia
Alleluia, Alleluia!2 Thou rushing winds that art so strong, Ye clouds that sail in heaven along.
O Praise Him Alleluia!
Thou rising moon in Praise rejoice,
Ye lights of evening, find a voice,
3 Thou flowing water pure and clear,
Make music for Thy Lord to hear,
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Thou fire so masterful and bright.
That gives man both warmth and light.4 And all ye men of tender heart,
For giving others take your part.
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Ye who long pain and sorrow bear.
Praise God and on Him cast your care.O Praise Him, O Praise Him, Alleluia,
Alleluia, Alleluia!Peace and Love Irene

1 When on life's billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost.
Count your many blessings, count them one by one.
And it will surprise you what the LORD has done.2 Are you ever burdened with a loud of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many bessings, every doubt will fly.
And you will be singing as the days go by.3 So amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all.
Count your many blessings Angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.
what the LORD has done.CHORUS
Count your blessings name them one by one,
Count your blessings see what God has done.
Count your many blessings name them one by one,
Count your blessings see what God has done.Peace and Love Irene

I'll walk with God from this day on
His helping hand I'll lean upon
This is my prayer, my humble plea
May the Lord be ever with meThere is no death, tho eyes grow dim
There is no fear when I'm near to Him
I'll lean on Him forever
And He forsake me neverHe will not fail me as long as my faith is strong
Whatever road I may walk alongI'll walk with God, I'll take His hand
I'll talk with God, He'll understand
I'll pray to Him, each day t o Him
And He'll hear the words that I say
His hand will guide my throne and rod
And I'll never walk alone, while I walk with God.Peace and Love Irene

To dream the impossible dream, to fight the unbearable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow, to run where the brave dare not goTo right the unrightable wrong, to love pure and chaste from afar,
To try when your arms are too weary, to reach the unreachable star. This is my quest, to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.
To fight for the right, without question or pause, to be willing to march
Into hell for a heavenly causeAnd I know
If I only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm, when I laid to my restAnd the world will be better for this
That one man
Scorned and covered with scars
Still strove
With his last ounce of courage
TO REACH TH UNREACHABLE STAR.Peace and Love Irene

Arise O Jerusalem, and stand on high, and look toward the east,
And behold thy children
Gathered from the west unto the east,
By the word of the Holy One, Rejoicing in the remembrance of God.How beautiful upon the mountain are the feet of Him
That bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace
That publisheth unto Zion
That saith unto Zion, thy God reigneth! How beautiful upon the mountain are the feet of Him
That bringeth good tidings that publisheth peace
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him
That bringeth good tidingsThe glorious majesty of the Lord shall endure forever
The Lord shall rejoice in all His works
The earth shall tremble at the look of Him
If He do but touch the hills, they shall smokeI will sing to the Lord as long as I live
I will praise my God while I have my being
I will sing, I will sing, I will sing
Unto the Lord as long as I liveHow beautiful upon the mountain are the feet of Him
That bringeth good tidings that publisheth peace
How beautiful upon the mountain are the feet of Him
That bringeth good tidings
Praise, Praise the Lord.Peace and Love Irene

from Fiddler on the RoofWonder of wonders
Miracle of miracles
God took a Daniel again
Stood by His side
And miracle of miracles
Walked Him through the lion's denWonder of wonders
Miracle of miracles
I was afraid that God might frown
Like He did so long ago in Jericho
God just made a wall fall downWhen Moses softened Pharaoh's heart
That was a miracle
When God made the waters of the Red Sea part
That was a miracle tooBut of all God's miracles
Large and small
The most miraculous one of all
Is that out of a worthless lump of clay
God has made a man todayWonder of wonders
Miracle of miracles
God took a tailor by the hand
Turned Him around
And miracle of miracles
Led Him to the promised landWhen David slew Goliath, Yes
That was a miracle
When God gave us manna in the wilderness
That was a miracle, tooBut of all God's miracles
Large ad small
The most miraculous one of all
Is the one I thought could never be
God has given you to meHow beautiful is that!!!!!!
Peace and Love Irene

Yes, it's that time of the year. But is Christ really born on that day, or is it Nimrod's Birthday.
Sorry Kathi that I am not to trilled about Christmas and our Children do celebrate it, so last year I did buy presents for Brian who was only 7 then. I don't know what I am going to do this year. I have not talked to Georg about it yet.
It is all so beautiful and I always have mixed feelings, knowing that it is not Christ's Birthday.
The song is nice, something Tiffany would like too. I will show Her next Family Day on Sunday. Thank you and please don't
feel bad, that is not what I want. O.K. Did you not like the Song? Does it make a difference if you say Happy Holidays, did they take Christ out of the Song? Did you ever try to prove if Christ was born on Dec.25? I did, He was born at the end of September and the beginning of November. It is hard to figure out the exact day.
Love you always, IreneNovember 9, 2009 at 4:07 am#155621LightenupParticipantIrene,
Listen again, it says that Christmas is about the birth of Christ not the birthday of Christ. Can you celebrate the birth of Christ every year as an organized holiday. Maybe you can think of Christmas as being about Christ's birth and not about Christ's birthday. Do you see the difference? It shouldn't matter who was born on a particular day…that shouldn't keep you from celebrating something totally unrelated to that person. Suppose your granddaughter was born on Dec. 25th. Would you refuse to celebrate her birthday on Dec. 25th just because Nimrod was born on that day? I hope not. So, I'm going to celebrate that Christ was born corporately with many Christians the world over on Dec. 25th.Look for the positives and celebrate them:
Christ was born from a virgin because God so loved the world. Don't celebrate Dec. 25th as His birthDAY, celebrate on Dec. 25 because that celebrates the world changing fact that He was born.
Don't feel bad about celebrating on Dec. 25th. You believe that Christ was born to a virgin because God so loved the world and that event changed the world, right. So…celebrate…rejoice as a world-wide body of believers. Take advantage of that time of year to talk it up…”God sent His Son everybody and that is what Christmas is about!” People who only say “Happy Holidays” are taking Christ out of Christmas and Christians are standing by and just letting them. It's CHRISTmas CHRISTmas CHRISTmas… Christians have the world's attention in December…Mary, Joseph and Jesus memorabilia is all over the place…tell the unbeliever's why. Tell them that story of Christ being born was an actual event and be prepared to present the reason why as God leads. The Christmas season provides an open door to speak about this story. It is GOOD news! Enjoy…the story was for you and the whole world. I think we should get more people involved in celebrating the real reason for the season.Love,
KathiNovember 9, 2009 at 5:31 am#155629georgParticipantThank you Kathi, will think about all of what you said, and pray about it too. We belonged to the W.W.Church of God, and Mr. Armstrong was very much against celebrating Christmas. I guess that is still in my mind. Cindy was only 13 years old then. We sometimes talk about those years. She told me the last time, that She believes those years were happy years. I have to agree with Her. We never talked about others and we were encouraged by the Minister to talk to everybody and Love everybody. Also we got at the Service sometimes an hour before it started and afterwards stayed another hour. So we were there close to 4 hours. Then we went out to eat, most of the times. And fellowshipped some more.
Coming out of the Catholic Church left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Gossip was a big thing in that Church. I was a Song Leader and making people sing was a big job. The Mass only took half an Hour, yet some even fell asleep. And then some did not even wait till it was over, and left before then. It was sad to say the least. Thank you for listening, and God Bless, Love IreneNovember 9, 2009 at 5:41 am#155633LightenupParticipantHi Irene,
I'm glad that you will think about that because Christmas time is all around us and to feel like you can't celebrate it also, especially being a Christian, would be sad and a burden that you should not have been given, IMO. All these wasted Christmas' that you haven't felt the freedom to celebrate makes me feel sad. I do hope that you change your mind and you can once again have the freedom and joy that you once had at Christmas time.Love,
