Quote (Cindy @ May 21 2009,15:40) Thank you so much Kathi, those Songs are all my favorites. It puts me back when I was younger and sang in the Choir. In the Catholic Church I did several Solo's, my favorites are Ave Maria and some Latin songs too. Danny Boy, Amazing Grace, Abide in Me and so many more. I also did a Solo at a Dance for our Anniversary on year at the German Club, in front of 1000 people. I just cannot wait, till we can all sing again when Christ returns.
Thank you, you made my Day.
Love always Irene
Hi Irene,
I'm glad that it made your day. I like to make people smile…it is what drives me:) What song did you sing for your anniversary at the German club? Here is another one of your favorites to sing along with:

Maybe you know this but in case you don't, when you watch a video on Youtube, you might have to click on the pause button, after it starts, to let it load all the way and then drag the indicator to the beginning and click on the play arrow in order to hear it play smoothly from start to finish.
Love,
KathiMay 22, 2009 at 5:28 pm#131448LightenupParticipantHi again Irene,
Here is a song that my German grandmother used to sing entitled “Sonny Boy” and it is sung in German. This is why I named my carousel deer “Sonny Boy.” Enjoy…

KathiMay 23, 2009 at 1:41 pm#131497CindyParticipantKathi thank you for all. When I did the Solo for my Husband it was called : ” Florantinishe Naechte Ihr bleibt mir im Gedaechtnis als das grosse vermaechtnis, eine Reise ins Glueck.
Repeat. : Florentinische Naechte……I wonder who is going to be able to read this, except lineon, He is from Germany, unless you know German.
I like that Song.

May 24, 2009 at 5:25 am#131544CindyParticipantKathi I just listened to that Sonny Boy in German, Richard Tauber has a really nice Tenor voice. We were not even alive when that was recorded. Some of the old Songs are so beautiful., I appreciate all.
Thank You again.

Peace and Love to al, IreneMay 24, 2009 at 7:01 pm#131580CindyParticipantGOD, WHO MADE THE EARTH AND HEAVEN
1 God who made the earth and heaven, darkness and light.
Who the day for toil has given, for rest the night.
May Your angels guard defend us, slumber sweet your mercy send us.
Holy dreams and hopes attend us, all through the night.2 When the constant sun returning unseals our eyes.
May we born anew like morning rise, to labor rise,
Fit us to the task that calls us, let not ease and self entrails us.
Strong through You what e'er befall us,O God most wise.Peace and Love Irene

1 All people that on earth do dwell, sing to the Lord with cheerful voice.
Him serve with fear, His praise forth tell, come ye before Him and rejoice.2 The LORD , we know is God indeed, without our aid He did us make.
We are His flock, He doth us feed, and for His sheep, He doth us take.3 Oh, enter then His gates with praise, approach with joy His courts unto.
Praise laud and bless His name always, for it is seemly so to do.4 For why? The LORD our God is good, His mercy is forever sure.
His truth at all times firmly stood, and shall from age to age endure.Peace and Love Irene

May 30, 2009 at 12:59 pm#131976CindyParticipantTHE SOLID ROCK
1 My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust in man's weak frame, but wholly lean on Jesus name.2 When darkness seems to hide His face, I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds with in the vale.3 His oath His covenant, His blood support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and Stay.4 When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone , faultless to stand before the throne.Refrain
O Christ, the solid Rock, I stand all other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand. What a beautiful Song this is.

1 Onward Christian Soldiers marching as to war, with the Word of Jesus, going on before.
Christ the royal Master, lead lead against the foe, forward into battle see His banners go!2 Like a might Army moves the Church of God, Brothers we are treading where the Saints have trode;
We are not divided, all one Body we, one in hope and doctrine, one in charity.3 Crowns and Thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane, but the Church of Jesus will remain.
Gated of hell can never 'against the Church prevail, we have Christ's own promise, which never fails.4 Onward then Ye people join our happy throng, blend with our own voices, in the triumph song.
Glory laud and honor, unto Christ the King, this through countless ages, men and angels sing.CHORUS
Onward Christians soldiers, marching as to war,
With the Word of Jesus, going on before.Peace and Love Irene

Another one for you Irene. This one will make you feel like you are in church doing a solo…enjoy soldierhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGGYznVqwko
Bless your day Irene,
KathiJune 1, 2009 at 3:06 pm#132120CindyParticipantKathi! Wow, thank you. I did sing along and my Soprano voice blended with theirs perfect. I also love the Organ, however when I did my Solo's we only had a piano. At the time we were building a New Church, we even donated 1000 dollars to the Church fund, yet we never seen that Church, when it was finished. We also moved to our new Home, where we are now.
Thank you again, yes you did make my day. I am going to the Doctor today, I think my gout came
back.
This flesh is a constant battle. One day we will all rejoice and no more pain and no more sorrow. That is what I am looking forward to. This world that God made so beautiful, is being destroyed by Satan, who is the God of this world now.
Peace and Love Irene

June 1, 2009 at 8:41 pm#132147CindyParticipantHi Kathi! That Song is one of the finest Songs, thank you again for putting it up for me. Am back from the Doctor and He put me back on the Medication for it, but I will try the Cherry Juice. To many though will bring my Sugar up, so I have to be careful. Getting old our Immune System is not what it was when we were younger.
Thank you again

June 5, 2009 at 9:34 pm#132562CindyParticipantTHINE IS THE GLORY
1 Thine is the glory, risen conquering Son, endless is the victory, thou e'er death has won.
Angels in bright raiment, rolled the stone away, kept the folded grave clothes where Thy body lay.2 Lo, Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb, lovingly He greets us, scatters fear and gloom.
Let His Church with gladness, Hymns of triumph sing, for her Lord now liveth death has lost its sting.3 No more we doubt Thee, glories Prince of life, life is nauth without Thee, aid us in our strife.
Make us more than conquerors, through Thy deathless love, bring us through Jordan by your
power above.CHORUS
Thine is the glory risen conquering Son,
Endless is the victory, Thou o'er death hast won.Peace and Love Irene
