Jim McKay is using his new single, “Louisiana Rain,” to help people remember the needs of the thousands impacted by Hurricane Katrina who are still in desperate need. A lot has changed since this single was released to radio in late August. First, Hurricane Gustav plowed into western Louisiana impacting Jim's hometown of Baton Rouge. In fact, the storm dropped a 60 foot oak tree on Jim's house (you'll see the result in the video). Then Hurricane Ike hit parts of Texas and Louisiana but didn't stop there. It continued to ravage parts of Tennessee, Arkansas, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. Jim's hope is that this video and the song “Louisiana Rain” will remind us of the many needs that have been caused by hurricanes in recent years.
———————————————————–This song touches me and reminds me of how fast we can lose all our material possessions and how little they really mean when lives are at stake. Thank you for putting this song on. I live next door to Louisiana in MS. That is where the Hurricane actually hit. New Orleans flooded from the broken Levis after the storm. The Hurricane hit the MS Gulf Coast. It took my home but none of my family members.

Thanks for putting this one. It brings back memories of 2005. We are still recovering here. Still so many empty lots with nothing but steps where houses were. All our lovely old homes on the waterfront, just gone with the wind.

I really like the “Take Me In” song. What good words to have on your mind! There is also another thread called “Songs to Praise God” in the “Messages” section just in case you want to post your songs over there so they can all be in one place. It's up to you though. I love the “Louisiana Rain” by the Soldiers of the Lord group, I just wish that it was a professional recording. I would like it on my iPod.Love in Christ,
