Mat 23:9 And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, even he who is in heaven.
God will not have any gods before Him including “the 'MOST' holy Father”.
The scripture speeks for itself. These are the words of Jesus not men! Do you think that Paul wanted Timothy to call him father in the same sense that our Lord said not to?
2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.Paul's writings are hard to understand. The above scriptures says that sometimes when Paul was speaking he didn't convey the message he intended.
1Co 4:14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
1Co 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
1Co 4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
1Co 4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.1Ti 5:1

Paul meant “father” as respect for a higher teacher, not as someone who claims that they can forgive sin or “our Father” which is in heaven, or even Our Most Holy Father on earth! The word of God is truth and the Catholic church is mostly lies it's no secret. As I said they taught me”saint” Christopher
carried baby Jesus across a river and Christopher thought he was carrying the whole world on his shoulder. Then some 15-20 years latter the Catholic church said that they never taught Christopher was a saint. Now that's a straight out lie. Myself and countless other people had a saint Christopher's metal! The Catholic church over the recent years has been caught in lie after lie.
Who is the father of lies?February 19, 2006 at 2:29 am#11620MrBobParticipantThe Catholic church now denies telling the story of St. Christopher? Wow, that's pretty….unbelievable.
Anyway, it just goes to show you can't rely on tradition and institutions for direction to the Father, but scripture.
February 19, 2006 at 5:26 am#11622Scripture SeekerParticipantHi Kenrch,
I am over half way through replying to your last post.
Are you aware that lying is a sin? Where has the Catholic Church declared that the Pope is God?
Are you aware that misleading people is a sin? Where does the Catholic Church teach that we must call the Pope the Most Holy Father?
Mat 10:24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
Mat 10:25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
Joh 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Joh 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
If you want to find the truth, please don't open any more subjects untill I have a chance to reply to your many other questions from your last post, then we can go from there.
It would also be nice if you provided real proof when you make statements.
Thanks

Oh they don't deny the story, but now they say it's not true.February 20, 2006 at 1:07 am#11634kenrchParticipantQuote (Scripture Seeker @ Feb. 19 2006,05:26) Hi Kenrch, I am over half way through replying to your last post.

Hi Scripture Seeker,Are you aware that lying is a sin? Where has the Catholic Church declared that the Pope is God?
Have you not heard anyone call the Pope the Most Holy Father? Because I have heard numerous times by local priest call the Pope the Most Holy Father.
Now if I call God Father then what does that make the”Most' Holy Father”.
Eph 4:11 And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:
Do you read any priest or Pope in those scriptures. In fact Pope is not in the bible at all. But then the Catholic church is above the bible. The Catholic church does not go strictly by the bible. The Catholic church says the “church was here before the bible not the bible before the church”. I read that in a book by some priest. I don't see Catholic anywhere in the bible. The word of God has been on earth for 6000 years. Are you aware that misleading people is a sin? Where does the Catholic Church teach that we must call the Pope the Most Holy Father?
God will not have any gods before Him including “the 'MOST' holy Father”.Are you refering to the above statement. Where does it say that anyone MUST call the Pope the Most Holy Father I would never call a man the Most Holy Father even if someone said I had too. As I stated before if I call my God Father and the Pope is called the MOST Holly Father then he is placing himself above my Father in heaven. The same with Reverend I will not call anyone Reverend. If Jesus said to pray to “OUR FATHER” in heaven why would anyone even allow people to call him the “most” holy father.
Joh 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
This seems to be your basic defence of you religion. Where do you get that EVERYONE is out to get the Catholic church. When I see His “excellency” on tv there are thousands and thousands of people. I don't hate the Pope he is just fulfilling scripture that's why the Catholic church is here. Already her daughters are beginning to “soften” or easying their degrading of their mother. The protestant religions having accomplished their goal will bring their sheep to their mother.
I heard Jack VanImpy say that the Pope was a great man. Oh it's getting close! I hope some little piece about the size of a seed gets inside.Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Oh! Just all heads of every major country meet with the Pope, bow down and kiss his ring. What goes on in those meetings only “our” God knows.
I really don't think that the “world” hates their saviour (the Pope) and again I don't know where you get that. There are a few people who can see but as our Lord said they are but a “little flock” as compared to the countless protestant and decieved Catholics. Narrow is the way to heaven because few find it, But wide is the path that leads to the grave for there are many.
Sir I'm not a liar by any strech of your imagination. The problem is you've been lied to so long that you can't accept the “Real” Truth. It would also be nice if you provided real proof when you make statements.
I gave you scripture. Now you show me where in the Word of God is a Pope mentioned.
