Quote (JustAskin @ Oct. 11 2010,14:53) Hey All.
See the honesty and forthrightness in Shimmer's post.
There is Meekness, there sorrow, there is righteousness, there is honesty.
Of such ones God seeks, as Scriptures says. You may, we may, all, take a leaf out of Shimmer's book.
Shimmer, that was Holy Spirited and awe inspiring.
Hey, you can be meek etc. so long, but when someone comes and makes nasty comments over and over again, something has to be said and done about it. The likes of Martian has been nasty to so many and He will not change IMO. This is a Chistian website and that kind of behavior should not be tolerated IMO…. I said that also to shimmer….Peace IreneOctober 11, 2010 at 7:14 pm#219561kerwinParticipantIrene,
It is true that if you see your brother sin you are to rebuke them. Since the sin is public it is reasonable that the rebuke be public as well. Discretion, which I seldom show, may lead you to send a private message instead. That later is a course that holds closer to the progression Jesus teaches. One is taught to watch themselves so not to sin when they rebuke their brother. A rebuke must be done with an attitude of humility and gentleness so as to bring your brother back to the path of righteousness.
We are instructed to be long suffering and to allow the authorities God put over us to wield the sword of wrath. We also are instructed to trust in God and allow him to determine the time and place to avenge the wrongs done to us and others.

kerwin! You are right about being gentle and trusting in God. However if I see someone being as nasty as Martian has been to several of our Brethren, then I would do and say to straighten that person out. I also ask myself what would God do? I don't think God would sugar code what He would say, or do. If we just be kind and not firm, Martian would continue in his abuse, as you see he has done, and not only that, I also believe he enjoys doing so. I could be wrong, but that is what I think he does. What I have done is not post to him at all, and that solved my problem I had with him. As far as the long suffering is concerned, I don't think that God wants us to be abused by another Human being, that is not Love and God is Love, but He also is firm and will punish a Human being, even in this life on earth. You reap what you sow………Peace and hope you are feeling better IreneOctober 11, 2010 at 10:00 pm#219571shimmerParticipantIrene and Kerwin,
Kerwin what you say is spot on to scripture, something all should learn from you. You have it right.
I still havent read the whole thread though so I'm still speaking our of ignorance at what has been going on.
October 11, 2010 at 11:29 pm#219576kerwinParticipantIrene,
The rebuke of a brother who sins must be both soft and firm as you say.
Sometimes it is best to avoid those who continue to sin after being rebuked.

Hi Kerwin,You are right that all this turmoil has gone on long enough. I did “turn my cheek” and made light of the hateful things Martian posted. As a moderator, I saw MANY of his posts reported by many people on HN. I know he is unhealthy and probably in pain a lot of the time – and that's partially why I never “blocked” him.
But if you ever go back and look at the just plain mean things he's said to me……. you might also notice how I laughed most of them off and “turned the other cheek”. I figured I could ignore the insults if it meant leading him to the truth.
Anyway, I'm sure one of us will probably end up “blocking” him off the site, because despite the personal problems he has that I'm willing to overlook, we have very nice and polite members who are very offended and keep reporting his posts. I can't just ignore those people who follow the rules just because Martian has health issues, can I?
Anyway Kerwin, it's hard to judge yourself from the inside looking out sometimes, so I'm glad that both Ed and Irene had my back on this one……..because I seriously don't remember ever treating him as he treated me. I try to treat him no better or no worse than Jesus treated the Pharisees……which is funny because they too were “stuck” on this pre-existent issue. (Matt 22:41-46)
Time to move on though……..so what about the points I made to you? Can a cat be made in the likeness of a cat?
peace and love,

Cats are formed, i.e made, in the likeness of a cat in their mother's womb. An embryonic cat does not look like what we call a cat but by the time it is born it does.

Not so fast there, mister! Can a fully grown cat be made in the likeness of a cat?

October 12, 2010 at 2:25 am#219589GeneBalthropParticipantMike ………..Kerwin is right that has nothing to do with Paul's Point you simply are forcing the text to meet your dogmas. Ypou looking for straws or better straining out a gnat while swallowing a camel. You still are ignoring all the other scripture that show Jesus did not preexist His berth on earth.

kerwin, you are right, and Martian does have two tiles, and deserves another. I really don/t think he is going to stop until he will have five and will have to leave….This has happened to me before with another member, he had to leave because of his abuse and got five tiles……So IMOP when he comes and makes those remarks we should report him. This site will be better of without him….kerwin, I really appreciate your kindness and your love for the Brethren……..Peace IreneOctober 12, 2010 at 2:55 am#219593BakerParticipantQuote (mikeboll64 @ Oct. 12 2010,11:18) Quote (kerwin @ Oct. 12 2010,02:09) mikeboll64, Do the words “turn the other cheek” and “be slow to anger” mean nothing to you?

Mike! Just because Martian is sick, gives him no excuse to abuse anyone here. I am sick also and in pain daily. I have Lupus, Congestive Heart Failure, Arthritis And I am a Diabetic….And I don't do what he does. my Osteoporosis, is the worse for me. I have shrunk five and a half inches. When you with God we should be able to tolerate much. In spite of all I am still alive and should be dead according to what the Doctor told me about my Lupus. I have lived with it for over twenty years. Sorry to go of topic, but look at kerwin, He is sick too….I find it ironic it is Martian that started this tread, yet he shows bad fruit…..Peace IreneOctober 12, 2010 at 3:27 am#219599mikeboll64BlockedHi Irene,
I'm sorry……you are so right. I should have never been swayed by his health issues at all. In fact, I'm just now remembering that God wanted all to be judged fairly and to not be given any undue consideration just because they were rich……OR BECAUSE THEY WERE POOR.
I have failed my responsibility as moderator and others have suffered because of it. I will do better to moderate impartially from now on.
You must be a “tough ol' bird” Irene. Growing old sure isn't for sissies, is it?

October 12, 2010 at 6:02 am#219615GeneBalthropParticipantT8………..Martian has taken a lot of abuse here from Many. He has posted some very clear and good posts trying to expose the false teachings of Preexistence and other things. And I have also noticed when your monitors use excessive language and accusations of other they sure do not get tiles for it do they? These monitors only wind up running people of the site Respect is a two way strrt they need to respect us also. IMO

Secondly, use the powers of being moderators properly…I dont know if im allowed to quote another forum… but heres an example of one I go to,

October 12, 2010 at 3:00 pm#219635GeneBalthropParticipantShimmer……….I do understand your points and do agree with them Sis, But when i See what some of these false teaching do to People in there Hearts and Minds and false fears they produce in them like the Lake of fire thing and distorting of our Perceptions of GOD and the Man our brother Jesus is does cause me to react some times Harshly i must admit, but i would like to think it is in Love not trying to put a person down themselves. All though at time i may cross the line and want to apologizes to all id i offended any.
Jesus said he hated the deeds of the Necholitains but he did not say he hated them now did he. That is probably the way we should see it also we do need to Hate the evil or false teachings, but not the person because we have all at time had wrong precepts about things and because we have not come to the total truth yet , but are growing up to the Measure of the fullness of the Stature of Christ Jesus , so we all have more growth to look forward to. I like your attitude Shimmer.IMO

Hi Mike! It takes a wise and humble spirit to see when He is wrong. That YOU have shown us all today. And thank you for that, and that you are going to pray for me. I very seldom talk about my health, I like to be positive and not negative.
I also have a very understanding and loving Husband, that helps me so much….And most of the credit goes to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. When I see how loving you just have been, it warms my Heart. It is very much appreciated. Yes, getting old is tough and the golden years are not so golden at all….My Husband also has a dry humor, He said to tell you that He agrees with you, that I am a tough old bird. We are going to be married 50 years in January…..
