So proving a point to satan was more important to God than was job, his entire family and all of his livestock.
Job reads more like God just wanted to prove a point to Himself, which I still think is a pretty rotten thing to do at someone elses expense. :(

    Hi Mandy,
I am around reading what other people have to say quite often.
I mostly keep my thoughts to myself, but sometimes I just can't seem
    to control myself.

    Love,
    Tim

Job did not see it your way for he said, “Though He slay me yet will I trust him” (13:15).

You sound like Job's wife. Read Job's rebuke to her and be rebuked yourself (2:9-10).

    Job 2:9-10

    Quote
Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Indeed.  Christians seem quite prepared to receive evil, as long as it is “from God”.

Thanks thinker.  This passage explains a lot.

If we were like Job we would have the feeling of security and enjoy inner peace. But we often choose to react like his foolish wife myself included.

But what if it is not until next February… or the year 3011?

We have been waiting for someone who was 'coming quickly' for a very long time now.

No signs in the clouds yet?

    Stu,
Christ came back as He said He would. He promised HIS OWN generation that He would return and He did.

I think we are waiting for the first time. There is no evidence to think otherwise.

Jesus said that the temple's destruction was the sign of His coming. The temple was destroyed. Ergo…

These so called “witnesses” were expecting a physical return. Therein lies their error.
