To Jodi Lee,
I would like to debate you on the question of the personhood of satan in a little while. I believe that satan IS an actual person and does not just represent the carnal nature. But I am a consistent Preterist which means that I believe that all prophecy has been fulfilled including the final judgment. This means that satan has been cast into the lake of fire.
So I have problems with the idea of people making “pacts” with satan. On the other hand I believe he is an actual person. Would you be interested in a one on one debate? I have read some of your stuff and I consider you a worthy opponent and I will give you a good run for your money. You will most probably influence my thinking though in the end I think I will disprove your view.
Are you interested?

I really don't have an eschatology. Haven't quite gotten that far in my studies. If you hadn't noticed I agree with Gene on the man of sin, if that helps. I wrote the other day that it seems evident to me that when Jesus returns Christians who believe in the trinity, will mistake Jesus for the anti-Christ they believe is coming.

Yes exactly Nick, that is why when I started reading scripture many things I was told through doctrine was not adding up with the scriptures. So I stopped reading scripture with any preconceived ideas, and just let the scriptures speak for themselves.You defend tradition IMO, and instead of backing up your belief with scripture, or pointing out directly where I am in error, you resort to lame comments.

By church of Satan do you mean the one started and officially corporated by Anton Szandor LaVey in 1969, a secret church directed by Satan himself, or any nut job who wants to proclaim themselves part of such by virtue of mental illness or need for attention. The public incorporated church of Satan does not welcome members who have not proved themselves successful in earthly life. If it were Satan himself leading a corrupting underground cult I think they would keep it secret rather then having their “high” (a dead give away here) priest go around in the open. Now if I were an attention seeker or mentally difficient I might go to a church and rave. Also if I were of a fundamentalist church and needed to lift the spirits of my flock, perhaps I might arrange for a little show to demonstrate the power of my church and to energize my base. A fake “high priest” of Satan could be just the theatre needed to shake up a complacent congregation.So satan is potentially a powerful force in christian evangelism?
Do you think he gets a cut? Maybe he is allowed to claim 10% of the souls of those he scares into christian belief.
