Yes;but by melting the old corrupted earth,not just washed from the outside.; but inside out.

All the holes man has made in the earth,can not be left as it is. The pyramids can not be left standing,even the stones must be melted down.

All the temples,can not be left there,even the stones must be melted down.

The sun and the moon and the planets,and stars must be removed; for man has worshipped them.

The rivers and the mountains and the sea must be removed by meting the earth; for man has worshipped them.

The trees and the rocks must be melted down; for man has worshipped them.

The clouds and the thunder must be removed;for man has worshipped them.

The animals must be removed;for man has worshipped them.
The caves and the pools must be removed; for man has worshipped them.

The satellites,and all technology must be removed;for man has worshipped them.
All the idol gods on earth must be removed; for man has worshipped them.

The world trade system must be removed; for man has worshipped them.

All the wicked must be removed; for they have worshipped satan.

This can not be done by just washing the outside.

Rev 21:5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Rev 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
Rev 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”(all what is not of God)

The earth can only be melted after all has been accomplished.
Christ's second return
Kingdom set up, and ruling for a thousand years.
Battle of Gog and Magog.
Satan Destroyed
White throne judgement, all the dead to be judged. (This is the great judgement.  If you have not made it into the first resurrection you will be in this judgement.)
The wicked thrown into the lake of fire
Death also thrown into the lake of fire, no more death ever again.
Now those who have been given mercy in this 2nd judgement will be changed to spirit.  No more flesh, no more evil angels.
All gone

and Jesus can hand his bride over to his Father.  All that he has cleansed and accomplished.  This will be spectacular, and likened to a wedding with all it's adornments.
Christ did all this cleansing, with the power and authority that his Father entrusted to him.
Christ finished the job.
Now heaven and earth can be melted.  Only now can it be done, because there is no more flesh.  All flesh has been destroyed or converted.  
Only spirit exists now.  
Only spirit can sustain this kind of heat when the heaven & the earth is melted.
No more trace of the old heaven and earth,
no more trace of corruption, abominations & death
all is made brand new.
Now all is perfect

In this case sea means sea.Why so?

Burned-up refers to whats happens to the wrong spirit – not to Terra-firma.

             whether you agree or not – the truth remains.

            “Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual,
             but that which is natural(the flood); and afterward

   Water was the natural – as in the flood destroying all flesh
   Fire is the spiritual – as in burning up the rudiments(all fleshly thought)
