Quote (t8 @ Aug. 13 2010,21:26) Quote (WorshippingJesus @ Aug. 14 2010,08:06) ep, anyone that says there is more than “One True God” and worships them is a polytheist, IMO.
Yes it is your opinion and I could debate that opinion very easily. But not in this topic.Just realise that we do not worship 3 as God but one as God.
And we acknowledge the other usages of theos and elohim in scripture. We are just acknowledging what the scripture teaches. We haven't created cleverly devised fables. We have no doctrine but that which is scripture and as such can be convinced to change if scripture shows something different to our current understanding.
Work with that WJ. No more name calling and unnecessary labels please.
t8Ah yes, your definition of “theos”.
You still have not answered the question…
“in what sense is Jesus less “Theos”, (God) than the Father?”
Do you say like Mike that he is God in the same sense as men and satan?
Simple questions awaiting your respnse.

But scripture uses theos and elohim to describe, God, Jesus, Man, Angel, Satan, Idol.
So I am just acknowledging that, whereas, you take 2 of them (and the Spirit) and make them one God in substance and relegate all the others as false gods, including those sitting on Moses seat and angels.
I face up to the reality of how scripture uses these words. Please note the word “reality”. So if you say that my admission to how theos is used is weird, then the Bible is weird in your thinking.
So if the Bible or scripture is weird or alien to you, then perhaps you need to change and your doctrine needs to be rethought?

I have answered this many times, but here it is again for the record.God and Jesus are divine in nature in that before he came in the flesh, he existed in the form of God (with divine nature).
But God is the only one WHO is God.Look at it this way, (I will make it as simple for you to understand as possible).
Jesus existed with divine nature and is the Word of God and the son of God.
The Father has divine nature, and is THE Divine himself, i.e., he is the one true God.A further breakdown for you.
God is the Divine, Jesus was divine.
NOTE: the definite article here.Another significant point that can easily be seen from this is that everything Jesus is, came from God. And everything that God is and who he is came from no one.
So Jesus is the Image of God.
God is not an image. He is the Father.Hopefully this wraps it up for you and we won't get that question again.
By all means though, feel free to ask ANOTHER question.
August 16, 2010 at 7:51 am#212293ProclaimerParticipantAn even simpler explanation for you that I have written many times.
God is theos in identity and nature.
Jesus is theos in nature or quality, but not in identity. In other words, Jesus is not God himself.
The Father is the only one WHO is God.Now, I can call God HE and HIM.
By definition of your doctrine you cannot, without breaking grammar.Your God is THEM and THEY because there is more than one WHO.

This is not the right topic for this discussion.
Hopefully you can move onto something a bit more productive WJ. - AuthorPosts
