sorrow mean tribulations ,or hardships in our lives that we live in a godly way ;
Jn 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
Jn 3:20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Jn 3:21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”Jas 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
Jas 1:3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Jas 1:4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.August 27, 2014 at 11:04 am#738751Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
God grants us all the ability to repent through his grace, but WE are the ones that must repent.

Repent:
intransitive verb
1
: to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one’s life
2
a : to feel regret or contrition
b : to change one’s mind
transitive verb
1
: to cause to feel regret or contrition
2
: to feel sorrow, regret, or contrition forFull Definition of CONTRITION
: the state of being contrite : repentanceContrite
: feeling or showing sorrow and remorse for a sin or shortcoming <contrite sighs>
I believe repent in the NT means “to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one’s life” as one that lives by the Spirit does all that is right.
August 27, 2014 at 3:08 pm#738838Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
“Chosen” doesn’t mean chosen to be in the Kingdom, but rather
chosen means those chosen to handle of the Word of God.FEW ARE CHOSEN.

Correct brother.

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders:

So a hundred and one million (101,000,000) is “JUST A FEW” to you; is that right? ???

to bear my name before the Gentiles (A.K.A. Scripture), and kings, and the children of Israel:” (Acts 9:15)August 27, 2014 at 4:12 pm#738875NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
Vessels fit for wrath and some for mercy.
And the difference is grace.
Rev 5.11
‘…I heard the voices of many angels who surrounded the throne and the living creatures and the elders.
They were countless in number, thousands and tens of thousands and they all cried out…”
Why would the number of angelic beings relate?
August 27, 2014 at 4:17 pm#738876NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
Do you think the choice by God of Paul to act as a vessel in the role of an apostle must apply to all chosen vessels?
In a great household there are many vessels.
In the body of Christ there are many roles for the elect.
August 27, 2014 at 4:24 pm#738878Ed JParticipantHi Nick, my point is:
“Few are Chosen” to handle of the Word of God fits
while “Few are Chosen” to enter into God’s kingdom does not fit.___________

The great multitude and the 144,000 of Rev 7 are the harvested men from the eareth.
Why did you include the angelic beings?
August 27, 2014 at 4:39 pm#738882NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
Many are called and few are chosen.
But not all chosen vessels are apostles

“Few are Chosen” to handle of the Word of God fits
Do you mean teach or something else because all that are Jesus’ followers handle the word as in believing.
while “Few are Chosen” to enter into God’s kingdom does not fit.
How do you come to this conclusion?

By the context of the parable. Should I post it and explain it for you?
while “Few are Chosen” to enter into God’s kingdom does not fit.
How do you come to this conclusion?
Handling as in speaking “Scripture” much of it was recorded by 40 biblical writers, FEW ARE CHOSEN.
