Repentance

Hi,
Repentance, the clearing of the ground, allows better the growth of the seed of the Word.

Jeremiah 4:3
For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

Mark 4:18
And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

What lacks in the world is repentance.
If God granted that to men then all arguments would cease.
Men would be crying out everywhere for baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.
Fear of God is not before their eyes and they are unaware that they live in the dominion of darkness

I believe a broken spirit is a humble spirit but I have not looked into it in order to verify it.

Repentance is realising we have unknowingly served satan, the god of this world, and seeking forgiveness.

A broken spirit is surrender to God.
A contrite heart is one that desires to change.
That sounds like repentance to me.

Thank you!

Your information teaches us that a broken spirit is one who is mournful.  A mournful heart that is pleasing to Yahweh is one that is full of godly sorrow.  How does that differ from a contrite heart?

2 Corinthians 7

The godly sorrow of these brothers lasted but a season and bore the fruit of repentance. Godly sorrow for the sins you commit leads you to overcome them.
