Reliance on scripture

Nick…………Is that all you can do here is trash mouth people. I have been here for over 3 years and have posted thousands of scriptures word for word and have shown sound meanings of them. So tell us this, do you think (YOUR) understand is any better then OURS here. I highely doubt it seeing you still don't even know what SPIRIT is , even though Jesus clearly defined it. So go figure that out first and then come and tell us about your “UNDERSTANDING”.

Nick……….Well then PLEASE Show US where I (EVER) SAID “WE CANNOT RELY ON THE WORDS OF GOD” That should clarify it. POST those EXACT WORD IF I EVER SAID THAT, NOT SOME TWISTED VIEW POINT OF YOURS. The SPIRIT you have of trash mouthing me and other is (NOT) of GOD Nick, but comes from the world and is the result of you PRIDE, IMO. But remember Scripture also says “PRIDE goes before a FALL”. And again “it is only just that GOD afflict those who afflict us.”. SO if i were you i would think before i get diarrhea of the mouth, it can have serious consequences. IMO You can disagree with what i post all you want that is fine with me , but your personal attacks are beyond that and show a different SPIRIT than of LOVE.

As an adult I did.  As a child I read scripture but failed to truly understand who God truly was despite what I heard.  It was only through learning what good and evil truly were that I came to decide to serve good and in that decision I first vowed to serve God one day as God displayed his artwork in the sky above my head.   Scripture has served to teach me many details but without the experiences God gives me each day I would fail to understand those teachings correctly.    

That is why scripture tells us that God attributes are plainly visible in this world and Wisdom cries to you on the street.

Christ as to be formed in you,this is not something done by baptism because i figure they were baptized already,
it is the knowledge placed in your heart deepest place so that it becomes you permanently ,and then you are one with Christ.

Many people here post what they believe scripture is revealing to them , even you do also. So you condemning me is also condemning yourself. That is for God to say and not me as it is my duty but to do as he commands and not to render final judgment on myself or others.

Belief is what it takes if your belief is like Abraham's. If it is like a demon's instead then you are doomed.

I suppose the argument can be made that there is a godly belief and a worldly belief and only the godly belief leads to life.

WJ……..Some Scriptures have been corrupted , that is a definite yes, But does that mean (ALL) are, NO , I have never said that or even insinuated it. Most all scriptures are excellent sources of truth of GOD, if properly understood. Now it is oblivious People do no all understand them the same, this site is absolute proof of that right. MY point to thinker was we need GOD'S SPIRIT to properly comprehend them. You know as well as i Many scriptures are written in symbolic language and Metaphors and Parables are used extensively in our Scriptures, to illustrate a spiritual principle or thought. Scripture it self says “they have eyes to see but see not, ears to hear but hear not, so to me it takes more then just words written down to properly understand them. Again this is (MY) OPINION, it does (NOT) have to be (ANYONE) ELSE'S>

I certainly disagree with Gene's doctrine in whole as it seems he has made intelligence his idol but I fear for you also as it appears you have made the bible your own idol.  

Both intelligence and the bible are tools God gave to us in order to serve him and so they are nothing of themselves and can be used by the enemy.  According to what is written Satan is known to correctly quote scripture in mislead the unwary and we are constantly warned against worldly wisdom.

You seem to forget that Jesus did not teach us to put scripture first but rather to love God.    He taught us that no one could come to him unless God led them to him.  He taught that to many called his students and when they heard him they abandoned that calling and walked with him no more.

John 6:64-66(KJV) reads:

Without God scripture is useless. If you have God what else do you need for he will provide all.

to me you can not love someone you don't know.
so the only way to know God and the one he has send us is by reading the bible,

and it is trough the love of his word that you start to love him ,because his words are going strait to your heart deepest feeling siege.

so if you don't have the scriptures to teach you you can not know the will of God and the one he as send.

now the spirit of God can act on you to give you understanding.

I am going to say God uses Love to guide me. I seek to love my neighbor as myself and scripture is a tool I use to learn but it is not the only tool God uses to teach me. If scripture were then there would be no need for Jesus to have died for my sins since scripture was around before his death.

You seem to have forgotten that scripture is the Law and Jesus did not come to make a new Law but rather to give the Spirit to those that hunger and thirst for righteousness.

God exists and he is both in and out of Scripture.
