Hi Modemouth,
Gen 41.39f
“So Pharaoh said to Joseph
'Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are;you shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you'
And Pharaoh said to Joseph
'See I have set you over all the land of Egypt'
Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand, and put it on Joseph's hand and clothed him in garments of fine linen, and put the gold necklace around his neck. And he made him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him
'Bow the knee'
And he set him over all the land of Egypt.”Was Joseph equal to Pharaoh?
Was he given complete authority under Pharaoh?
Was he worshiped? or paid homage too?Can you see the likeness to Yeshua and his Father?
Can you see the likeness to the prodigal son[us gentiles]?March 10, 2005 at 11:52 pm#5653AnonymousGuestI would be careful about drawing a parallel between the Father God and a pagan ruler.

Is that all you can say?March 11, 2005 at 7:38 pm#5655NickHassanParticipantMM,
It was you who suggested that “all authority” suggested the inclusion of a “right” to be worshipped.I am not alone in believing the relationship between Joseph and the Pharaoh was given to us as a model of the relationship between God and His Son.
Joseph was given total human authority, except in relationship to the throne, in the kingdom of the Pharaoh, just as Yeshua is given total authority UNDER GOD in the Kingdom of God.
