My friend!Jesus can deliver and set free anyone with drug addiction.
All they need to do is call out to him in prayer and repent, which means to turn around or away from, and accept his forgiveness through the shedding of his own blood on the cross.
Jesus died for all men to bring us back into fellowship with God.
For God so loved the World that he gave his only Begotten, Son that whoever believes “IN HIM” will not perish but have everlasting life. Jn 3:16.
Call on him and he will hear you.
I will pray with you.
Blessings!

debraMay 8, 2007 at 10:31 pm#51732ProclaimerParticipantGod can fulfill your soul with life. This life is better than anything concocted by man.
Besides being bad for your health, I see drugs like taking an overdraft. You feel good when you have the money, but you have to pay it back and debt can be a bad feeling especially after you have spent the money. So to get rid of that bad feeling you take a bigger overdraft and feel good again momentarily. It then becomes difficult to stop and escalates from there. Eventually you become bankrupt.
Some drugs increase endorphins which are hormones that bind to opiate receptors in the brain. This increase in endorphins can create a rush of pleasure. But afterward you are left with less endorphins because you spent them in advance. So you feel depressed. In this depressed state it is tempting to take more drugs to feel good again and so the cycle continues.
However I would like to take a guess and say that if you didn't take drugs instead of a rush of endorphins and then a lack of them, you would have a nice even flow of them and you would be happier overall.
It is clear that taking recreational drugs is not good as you are paying money to be less happy overall in life. You need to break free. This in itself is hard to do, but you need determination to repent and then be open enough to let God fill your soul with his life so that you will feel his joy. This will not only take away the sting of drugs, but you will be in right standing with God which is more important.
I too will pray for you my friend.

Hi glen:You have taken the first step in the right direction by acknowledging that you need help, and I will help by praying for you as you requested.
All of us need God's help and He is willing to help us if we will come to him with a repentant heart through His Son Jesus.
If you do not know Him as your Father, you can pray to him yourself asking him to forgive you and to help you break this addiction. He loves you, and wants the very best for you and that is why he has spoken to us through His Son. When you see Jesus, the compassion, the mercy, the suffering that he went through, you have seen Character manifest through Jesus.
Joh 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.God loves you and I love you and I pray that God will deliver you from this addiction as you have asked.
God Bless
May 11, 2007 at 5:18 am#51906Not3in1ParticipantHi brother,
My sister took her life in 2004 – heroin overdose. She was only 42 years old, and now I am raising her beautiful daughter and she is missing EVERYTHING.Drug abuse has to be the greatest demon out there today. It robs you of your life and all that is worthwhile. But how do you come clean? How can you beat the pull to use? These are the tough questions. The answers are even tougher, I'm afraid. You see, you have to really, really want it. Do you really, really want to quit, Glen? If so……
I encourage you to find a Christian drug re-hab and check yourself in!!!! Yes, Jesus can instantly heal you. But I also believe that he works with those who are seeking help where help can be found. Call a friend or family member – take the first steps to becoming clean. It won't be easy, but the Lord will be with you. I will also lift your name up in prayer tonight.
Lord, give Glen strength and courage to do what he needs to do. Comfort him and give him hope of a brighter tomorrow!
Love to you, Glen, in Jesus name.

Hi All:I thought that he had written that he needed help in “fighting” a drug addiction, and I hope this is what he meant, but if he meant “finding” a drug addiction. He will need help either way.
All of us need God's help, and my prayer is that glen will realize this whatever his situation.
God Bless

May 18, 2007 at 4:30 am#52480ProclaimerParticipantI think that the most likely scenario is that the English is not grammatically correct and that he is asking for help for an existing addiction. Obviously most just overlooked the sentence structure and assumed the obvious. If the English is correct and he is actually looking for an addiction, then I recommend the love of God. You can't go any higher.
In this case, the advice offered here will probably help others who need help anyway. Even if it is not what glen asked for, we are here to help anybody who may come this way looking for help with drug addiction.

Yes sometimes a verse can appear to say something contradictory and we need to look at more than one verse to get the balance. In this instance we had one text to go on, so it boiled down to what his intention was when he wrote this.
With scripture, we have multitudes of scriptures as a check and balance for a texts that seems difficult.
It is true that we all see things differently and this variety is actually good. We can all see a different part of the elephant (so to speak). But when people ignore the truth that is mentioned by many witnesses, then it is true what scripture says:
They have eyes but cannot see and ears but cannot hear.
In pure white light, I may see blue, another yellow, and still another red. But when we combine our vision we see the light.

I agree with not3in1. You should check yourself into a rehab center. Any addiction can be kicked in three days and nights However spiritually Satan needs to be kicked out. That is up to YOU! Do you truly want to be clean? If you want to be clean Jesus will cleanse you. But if you have doubts then you could find yourself is worse condition.
Mat 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
Mat 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Mat 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. This is why you need prayer and CHRISTIAN fellowship. You must be renewed and have nothing to do with your past—friends if that's what you thought they were.
IHN&L,
Ken
