Quote (Ed J @ June 10 2012,17:05) C) “The Word” was God (Past tense)
Ah, so you are aligned with Nick, pretending that something that WAS God became something that WASN'T God anymore?Enough said, Ed.

Hi Mike,Not so.
So it's an undeniable fact of translation, but you just don't want to accept it?

Let's see you do that with MY understanding. List any single scripture in the entire Bible that would refute my understanding of Jesus being the Word who became flesh and had the glory of God's only begotten.
Hi Mike,“The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his(HolySpirit's)
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father” (John 1:14)“And the glory which thou(Father) gavest me I have given them;
that they may be one, even as we are one” (John 17:22)the glory as of the only begotten of the Father (John 1:14) com-
pared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)
I'm still waiting for a scripture that refutes my understanding that the Word was Jesus.I'm not sure how you're attempting to do that with this post.

Ed,You believe the Holy Spirit OF God is God Himself. How is it that God had the glory, not of “God”, but of the only begotten OF God?

Scripture never says Jesus IS the Word.
Really jammin jr?Scripture must come right out and say it for you? If scripture doesn't come right out and say it, then how do you come to know that Jesus is the Word in Rev 19:13?
Nick, can John 1:1c be translated as “God”, or as “a god”?

Isaiah 42:8
“I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.Your understanding does not align with scripture, Ed.
Nor does your post explain why the Holy Spirit, who you say IS God, would have the glory of God's Son, instead of the glory of God.
