Quote I checked out your Net source and even there they give the Greek word meaning as Within YOU twice and among you once, Why do force text to try to meet you personal view
Gene, all I did is post word for word what the NETBible scholars said about it, yet you imply I've lied or twisted something around? Here's EXACTLY what they say about it:Luk 17:21 [In your midst] is a far better translation than “in you.” Jesus would never tell the hostile Pharisees that the kingdom was inside them. The reference is to Jesus present in their midst. He brings the kingdom. Another possible translation would be “in your grasp.” For further discussion and options, see D. L. Bock, Luke (BECNT), 2:1414-19.
Gene:
Quote Why would you even want to think the kingdom of God was not within a person in the first place.
If you read my post to Shimmer, you would know how I think about it. But why would you even want to think the Kingdom of God isn't some beautifully glorious place we all want to someday live? Neither you or Shimmer commented on the MANY scriptures I posted that teach it is a physical place certain ones will “enter” or “be thrown out of”.Gene:
Quote Jesus will come and set up the His Kingdom on earth a {Physical} kingdom. and rule over this world for a thousand years, but the only ones that are in the kingdom in that Period are Jesus and the Saints no one else
Then who are they ruling OVER?Gene:
Quote GOD rule within a person not outside outside him. “for the kingdom of God comes not with (OBSERVATION) it is (WITHIN) YOU.
Then how will you “ENTER” the Kingdom of God, Gene? How can one be “thrown out” of something that only exists inside of them? And how is it that flesh and blood cannot ENTER the Kingdom of God? What does that mean Gene?No Gene, go back and re-read 1 Cor 15…..especially verses 50-56. You said you have “inherited” the Kingdom of God because it is “within” you. Yet scripture says “flesh and blood CANNOT inherit the Kingdom of God”. Have you ceased being flesh and blood? Has the “change” that Paul talks about in 51 already happened to you? If so, then you are now immortal, my friend, and death has no grip over you.
Gene:

The word is “THRONE”, not “KINGDOM”.Gene:
Quote Get it, two different Kingdoms, one of Jesus and the or the LORD GODS>Who takes over Jesus' kingdom at the end of the thousand year period.
Gene, how is it that you mangage to misunderstand so very much of scripture? Jehovah has appointed Jesus King over Jehovah's Kingdom for a while. There is only one “Kingdom of God”, and Jesus will rule over it for a while.Look Gene, I don't claim to have all the answers, but it seems you don't even try. You are dead-set in your understanding of scripture, and every time I show you scriptures that DIRECTLY disagree with your understanding, you either ignore them or pretend they mean some other cockamamey thing that doesn't even make logical sense. And instead of discussing those scriptures further, you just keep posting diatribes of “The Bible According to Gene”. Answer my questions with DIRECT answers once in a while, okay?
Why won't you answer to all the “Kingdom of God” scriptures I posted?
Why won't you answer to the “John 1:1” post I made for you?
Why won't you tell me one thing you've ever done in your entire life to follow the teachings of Jesus that you couldn't have done if he pre-existed?
Why won't you tell me how someone who already is a human being can be made in the likeness of a human being?
Why don't you tell me who the “Word” that became flesh and had the glory of an only begotten son was if it wasn't Jesus? These are just a few Gene.

I suppose so ? The 'netnotes' is better than the one I usually use, I like the drop down menu and the Greek, thanks.
I like the LXX translation of the Hebrew. I find it sheds much light on hard to understand Hebrew phrases. Kathi is the one who turned me on to it………and I love it.peace and love,

Hi Irene,This is how I come to my understanding:
Rev 21:2-3 NIV
2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.21:3 says God will dwell with mankind.
Rev 22:3-4 NIV
3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.I assume these “servants” who will “see God's face” are mankind, because 21:24 mentions the “nations” and “kings of the EARTH” being in New Jerusalem.

Mike……….You are not being truthful with the word there as being among you , look it up in the GREEK text and it is written as (IN) YOU as the most accurate translation. Your are again forcing the text to bend to your way of thinking IMO.You Quote this , Flesh and blood can not enter into the kingdom of GOD. and that is right because flesh and Blood are Physical things , But within this flesh and blood being is a Mind and the KINGDOM of GOD can enter into it. You are looking at the outside of the cup and ignoring what is going on in the inside of it. “LET THIS (MIND) BE (IN) YOU WHICH WAS (IN) CHRIST JESUS OUR Lord. So now you want us to believe the KINGDOM of GOD was NOT (IN) Jesus also, because you falsely believe the kingdom of GOD can't be IN a FLESH Being.
Mike this is a typical example of what i am talking about , it is how people take something out of what is (ACTUALLY SAID) and make all kinds of assumption out of it. You people not only do this with this but all kinds of scriptures also. What do you think it means that the Kingdom of GOD come without (OBSERVATION) You can (SEE) Spirit. At lest that is what Jesus Said but you can take that anyway you like. IMO
October 22, 2010 at 3:08 pm#220905GeneBalthropParticipantQuote (JustAskin @ Oct. 22 2010,04:20) God, wisely abstained from promoting the one who would be king until the time was right, the fullness of time, as it were. How does a car manufacturer launch a new car? They create it in secret but leak little bits of information concerning it. They allow a 'secret' glimpse of it's power, style, colour, engine size, but nothing that anyone can build a complete picture about. Why?
And then suddenly, it is launched. And it does everything that was written about it, everything that was said concerning it…and yet some disbdlieve that it is the same one, and they look for another.
And some say, it is not even that. That there never was one, it was just hype, and it is the same as any other car, just with a different skin, maybe.
Yet the evidence is clear…
JA……..Your example is flawed is so many was it is pathetic. Just for starts before there was ever (ANY) Model made there was the Thought and then came the (PLAN) and then the Prototypes and then the complete models . GOD Had a Thought of creating and perfecting Man from the beginning of His creation and that thought was for a perfection of Mankind, “BE YOU PERFECT FOR I AM PERFECT BE YOU HOLY FOR I AM HOLY” This is what GOD wanted MAN to become. Now that body was made out of flesh just as like a cars body is made out of Metal , it is fashioned and formed by its creator, so was man fashioned and formed by GOD , But the power that drove that car was it engine Or in our analogy the (MIND) and GOD Had to design that also and he instilled it in His creation and the first to recieve the PERFECT Engine or MIND so to speak was Jesus and it was (IN) a Body Just like ours. “LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU WHICH WAS (in) CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD”. That engine or mind was GOD HIMSELF, or don't you believe “GOD WAS (IN) JESUS DOING THE WORKS , AS HE SAID HE WAS. THE FATHER WAS (in) HIM AT LEAST HE SID HE WAS, You can believe that or not, it's up to you or you alter Ego. That is the engine the drive the body or flesh of Jesus the anointed MAN of GOD.You assumption that Jesus preexisted his Berth as a “SPIRITUAL” being is false , he existed in the Mind and WILL of GOD. but if you understood how the Hebrew thought as Martian has shown you, you could easily understand this.
And what you call “SOLID” Scripture is nothing but speculations at best.
So my advice to you is don't Let your alter EGO, JA, fool you as it appears it has.

Hi Mike! I have been thinking a lot today. This is the way I understand what will be in the New Earth and the New Heaven. Since flesh and blood cannot enter in, only those that are Spirit Beings will be able to do so….. Almighty God is and was always a Spirit Being and divine. I also believe that since they are divine they are not able to change. I have no Scripture for that, but to me it makes sense. I also had asked Georg who will be teaching all truths to those who are Human, He thinks it is the Priests who will do so….

IMO
Hi Gene,Please do explain these verses for us all here at h-net!
How does your belief system square with what Luke 17:21 says?
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there!
for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Also how does your belief system square with Romans 8:9?
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the
Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.Witnessing to a worldwide audience in behalf of YHVH!

Thanks (not) for calling 'analogical truth' pathetic. Was not Adam as 'perfect' as God wanted him to be?
Jesus is the 'Second Adam'. What does that mean?
He was like Adam, in that he …well… Was like Adam, having the Holy Spirit. And besides, what does that have to do with Jesus being revealed from his hidden position 'in the palm of [God's] hand'?
The analogy is not perfect, i didn't include several thing to try and keep it simple…but you still find fault. Why?
Jesus' spirit was already in existence else how did God 'teach him' BEFORE he came to earth as man..and what Glory did he have with his father that he asked to be returned to?
The first man is of the earth (Adam), the second is the Spirit from Heaven (Jesus).
The Second MAN is the Spirit from Heaven. No matter how many times you asked for conclusive proof…and no matter how many times Scriptures is used to prove to you this fact, you still find fault.
Gene, are you weeping every time proof is shown you. Do you keep box loads of tissues by your side? Do you have bucket to catch your huge tears? Because, you Must weep at the evidence that you try to refute. Pointless act.
Sciptures is all we have to learn about Jesus, and Scriptures is what you refuse to believe. Why, Gene, Why?
So, you think my analogy is bad.
But do you agree that it is valid? Just that, Gene, nothing more, is it a valid theme for the revelation of a great development.
Built in secret, leaked tidbits of it's power, majesty, ability, position in the heirachial order, prediction of impact? And then it happens, launched with global fanfare?Gene, (!sigh!)..nothing.
October 22, 2010 at 7:12 pm#220923JustAskinParticipantHi Mike,
Thanks. I'm learning…October 22, 2010 at 7:25 pm#220924JustAskinParticipantBut Mike, your understanding of the Scriptures you quote are wrong.
God residing with man, means 'in tne spirit'. Always did, always will.
To see God's face means being sinless as all those who currently see his face are sinless spirits in the heavens. No sinful one can look upon God so we cannot see God at this time, not until we take off the flesh and acquire the spiritual form.
The new jerusalem will be his temple …it is figurative…Revelation is full of figurativeness, do not read it as literal. Satan is not a 'Serpent' but is 'akin to one'. Jesus is not 'a lamb, as though slaughtered from the beginning of time'. He was 'destined to be slaughtered'. This is how past, present and future can be rolled up into one object.
The 'Seas' are 'floods of People' not 'World Wide Wet Waters'…Please don't take it personally but your thoughts on these issues was completely wrong.

There will be Humans then, but a multitude of Spirit Beings that will stand in front of God's Throne that will worship Him day and night…..Can you show me a Scripture that says that Almighty God will walk amongst Human Men.
Am I wrong? Have I maybe missed something?

Rev 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or sadness. There will be no more crying or pain. Things are no longer the way they used to be.”
Rev 21:5 He who was sitting on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down. You can trust these words. They are true.”
Rev 21:6 He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last. I am the Beginning and the End. Anyone who is thirsty may drink from the spring of the water of life. It does’t cost anything!
Rev 21:7 Anyone who overcomes will receive all this from me. I will be his God, and he will be my childwhat does it means;;Now God makes his home with people. He will live with them. They will be his people. And God himself will be with them and be their God.

October 22, 2010 at 10:45 pm#220949GeneBalthropParticipantQuote (Ed J @ Oct. 23 2010,06:09) Quote (Gene Balthrop @ Oct. 23 2010,01:40) Quote (mikeboll64 @ Oct. 22 2010,14:52) Gene: Quote I checked out your Net source and even there they give the Greek word meaning as Within YOU twice and among you once, Why do force text to try to meet you personal view
Gene:
Quote Notice Jesus said whosoever overcomes I will grant to sit with Me in (MY) Kingdom even as I have over come and Sit in My FATHERS KINGDOM>
These are just a few Gene.
peace and love,
mike
Mike……….You are not being truthful with the word there as being among you , look it up in the GREEK text and it is written as (IN) YOU as the most accurate translation. EDJ………..Explain what i am in full agreement with what you have quoted , it Ike and others who are not, not me., wake up man. I know the kingdom of GOD is Spiritual and comes without observation and is within you, that is my stand all along. I have no idea what you are talking about>October 22, 2010 at 10:55 pm#220952GeneBalthropParticipantEDJ………mike and others are the ones saying Flesh and Blood can not enter into the Kingdom of . Here is another example lets say the Physical world can not enter the kingdom of GOD either , does that mean the kingdom of God can not enter into the world too. Get it the kingdom of God can enter into a Flesh and blood person, but a flesh and blood Person can not enter into it. Why because the kingdom of GOD is SPIRIT (intellect) AND must come into us physical beings Just as it did Jesus. A kingdom is where someone rules and if God rules in your hear and mind then His Kingdom is within you. Mike has it all wrong by trying to say Jesus meant the Kingdom of GOD was among them , Jesus said the kingdom of God comes without (OBSERVATION), because the kingdom of GOD is Spiritual Kingdom and is Within a person Just as it was (IN) Jesus a MAN who was FLESH and BLOOD too. It can also be in us the same way as it was in Jesus in our minds which are in our bodies of flesh and blood.
