    Heaven Net Friends,

I could not find a place to post a prayer request. So I am posting it here. I have a small business and for the last six years I have employed an exceptionally reliable man. He has always showed up for work and always does a good job. He has always taken care of business for me when I have been sick or have had to go away.

He is a diabetic and has acquired a nasty infection in his right foot. He has poor circulation due to his diabetes and so the infection cannot be conquered. He is scheduled to have his foot amputated tomorrow morning. I have called him and have visited him. I want to be there for him like he has been for me. Please pray for him that the surgery goes well and that his recovery is as comfortable as possible. His name is Guy.

I admit that I am anxious about the effect this will have on my operations. The doctors have assured him that a special shoe with a prosthetic insert will allow him to return to work almost normally. Guy assures me he wants to come back to work. I expressed hesitation at first but he said that he would feel worthless if he does not return to work. So I said “We'll see.” I am more inclined today to let him return then I was at the beginning. But I must be sure that the work will do him no harm because it involves physical labor.

If anyone knows about this kind of thing as it relates to persons doing physical labor after having a foot amputated I would like your help. Losing him for good is scary. But allowing him to return to work is also scary.

    thanks,

    Nick, LU,
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I have thought about the issue of Guy's returning to work and have decided that I will require a doctor's release/note. I have a very small business with only two employees. I could not afford to be sued.

    Hi Thinker,
That sounds like a wise decision. I pray that Guy's surgery went well today.

Guy's surgery went well and he is in good spirits. His pain is at a minimum because he had no circulation in the foot to begin with. And I was happy to hear from his wife that the surgeons removed only his toes. But Guy told me they said that they would be removing his foot to the ankles.

Anyway, I am glad for him and I am more inclined now to allow him to return to work after he is fully recovered. But I will still require a doctor's release note.

    thanks again,

No, the surgeons cut off his toes. They saved a man from serious illness caused by your god's incompetent 'design' that gave him a pancreas not up to the job.
