[NickHassan]

my former friend brought a present that horrified me
it made me so sad, it was so old, i wanted new,
it was tattered, torn, quite disgustingly ancient
grubby, thumbmarked, twisted, bent and forlorn
now why would a friend give such a disgrace
how can i go to church, even show there my face
there some words on the front i can nearly discern
something like original manuscript someone has writ
making it look worse than ever, disgusting, i quit.

A free mind is a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing. Most people spend much of their time looking for reasons to be offended. An open mind is never offended because it is free of any attachments. It is never the self that is offended but always the illusion that the self has of itself that is affected by insult! If you can really understand this, deeply grasp it?s truth, live it each day, then pain will be no more. Next time you ?feel? offended look closely within yourself at yourself and ask yourself what was offended? If you remain aware you will see that it was only an image of yourself which you had become attached to, and that image did not resonate with the image contained in the insult. If you weren?t attached, if you didn?t identify with the wrong image of yourself then there would be no offence taken. You would then remain free and therefore happy.

Self Judgement is righteousness with God; Vanity in truths Light is pleasing and expectable in his sight

There are rows and rows of beautiful people
Beautiful to look at, beautiful to behold
I fall in love again and again
They move into my heart
They move into my mind
Listen to their chatter
Listen to their talk
See their laws, they are our laws
See their lipstick, it belongs to me
See their cloths, that label is myn.
Lord our God take this Love away
This is not the Way.
Grant us our looking glass
Where darkness is light
Where individuals know what is right.
Let this world hear your law
Let this world remove it self from it's course
Let our compass and book be removed
Help us to set a new course.

Lean not fully on others understanding for vanity is within all the creatures, that many be found swine’s collecting worthless pearls -charity

drink the given water from your own well for it upswells
to eternal life, not resting in your own understanding
but let what you have taken in of bread be enlivened
enlightened by that refreshment to reflect what is written

A compassionate soul will travel great distances and scale high walls in order to understand another point of view.

i wonder if could that be sounds good to me
the floating of minds in a philosophical sea
no anchor no sail no purpose set free
to be carried by whim or idiosyncrasy

Wise and skilled communication leaves no room for disputes -charity

the wise man from afganistan presented his piece followed closely by turkey, iran, england and greece
the rest nodded sagely and sipped on their tea, shouting well done, bravo, great words and peace
they patted their own backs and others as well bowing deeply, meaningfully, as their hearts swelled
then went home to polish the mirror of vain opinion, another useless exercise in mutual deception

they wrang their hands and they beetled their brows,
what natural phenomenon has caused these bugbears
it's got out of control, I'm sweating with fear
what is becoming of my stocks and shares

they threw out the bible disliking the way the God of the book was
revealed page by page, being offended by all His power displayed,
not as nice as they thought, they were left dismayed

but the problem is that they have faith that still lives
and they still need a god to receive all their praise

so they cast about looking among other religions
for one that will satisfy their own opinions
failing that they will have to sit down and devise
one themselves, that will gaze on them kindly
from it's place on the shelf
