If Only
If everyone would choose
To make up their minds
To be gentle, loving and kind
At all times,
We would begin to save this Earth.Perhaps the word violence
Would be removed from the dictionary.
And the history of the planet
Would begin to change. This would open up
A vast array of possible futures..
Diminishing Poverty – Strengthening Communities.
Creating a greater realization
Of Human PotentialEach one of us has the responsibility
To create this future.
It's simple – it's enough to think
“In my own life, I vow to become non-violent.”Good things catch on quickly.
However – in the coming Millennium
Unless we choose to think,
Choose to believe,
and live this new life style,In such as world as this one,
It will not happen!By: Elizabeth Joyce

God it hurtsI said 'God it hurts'
And God said 'I Know'
I said 'God I cry alot'
And God said 'That's why I gave you tears'
I said 'God I get so depressed'
And God said 'That why I gave you sunshine'
I said god I feel Alone'
And god said 'That's why I gave you loved ones'
I said 'god my loved one is dead'
And God said'I watched mine nailed to the cross'
I said God 'Where are they? '
And God said 'Mine is on my right and yours is in the light.
I said 'God it hurts'
And God said 'I know'By Amy Louise Kerswell

God is everywhere
God is in my soup
The christians say the god of abraham
God is everywhere
God is in my soup
The jews say
The god who promised them a homeland
God is everywhere
God is in my soup
Two armies who worship the same god
God is everywhere
God is in my soup

Hymns are poetry, aren't they? Here's another:(To the tune of All Things Bright and Beautiful)
All things dull and ugly,
all creatures short and squat.
All things rude and nasty,
the Lord God made the lot. Each little snake that poisons,
each little wasp that stings.
He made their brutish venum,
he made their horrid wings. All things sick and cancerous
All evil great and small.
All things foul and dangerous,
the Lord God made them all. Each nasty little hornet,
each beastly little squid,
Who made the spiny urchin?
Who made the sharks? He did!!All things scabbed and ulcerous,
all pox both great and small.
Putrid foul and gangrenous,
the Lord God made them all.Amen
Now, seek and you will find, tell me which line of that is not 'right'!

Thank you not3,
It is kind of good to be back, although I certainly enjoyed Florida.I believe that God created evil in that He created the capacity for man to do evil things. I do not believe however, that God ever instructed man to do these evil things.
As far as other things being evil, like sharks, sea urchins,
poison and such. I don't consider them truly evil. They are merely roadblocks in our path to a perfect life free of any danger. Look at how some of these are already being useful.
Botulism is not just something that will kill you now, it is being used for good medical purposes. Sharks are good to eat. I am sure that sea urchins are also tasty to some creature.Tim

Timothy Welcome back, yes Florida is nice. Thank you for your posts. I like something positive, but Satan sees to it always to destroy what we try to built up. I wish we could convince Stu to be a little nicer. Prayer is the best medicine.

Placing Satan in their handbags
they go 'a knocking on doors
where they're least expected
to trade the here-and-now
for everlasting obscurity. All for a Book filled with the
occult, murderous intentions, and twisted realities
where truth is falsehood and falsehood is gospel
and a simple question
merits the death penalty. With the pitter-patter of tiny feet
they approach with learned stealth
caring for nothing
but the opium high of testifying.Overjoyed by rejection
yet bewildered by disbelief
their prayer orgies strafe the ethers
in long arches of arrogance.“We have the truth!” they proclaim boldly
as legion more proclaim a differing story.
I read their Book filled with
insanity, conflict, and unnumbered depravities
then look into their junkie eyes.Nothing that I say can appease
the Beast lurking behind the message
with peace on the lips
and dripping evil on the tongue.Quickly closing the door
on the message of death
disguised in goodness,
a sigh of relief passes my lips. The wolves of the forest

Hi Stu I am rather new to Heaven Net
So I do not know what you are about
You profile does not say much either.Just by the few words that you have
Published in the poetry thread
My understanding of you is that
You have never observed a field of flowers
You have never observed a sunrise
You have never observed a full moon
You have never observed waves crashing onto rocks.Nor have you exprienced a brother or sister
Nor have you observed ants at work
Nor have you observed bees at work. You do not seem to understand what makes a tree grow
You do not seem to undestand what makes a river flow. These are friendly words that have been published
I am trying to understand where you are coming from.Lineon
April 28, 2008 at 4:22 pm#210974seek and you will findParticipantlineon You are right to question Stu, and I can tell you what He is all about. Nothing positive comes out of His mouth most of the time. He does not believe in God and has given members a hard time. So my advice to you is, to not to respond to Him. Let us continue to e positive and Love God and pray for Him that He one day will see God in the beauty that He has created for us.

by Kahlil GibranIn the ancient days, when the first quiver of speech came to my lips,
I ascended the holy mountain and spoke unto God, saying,
“Master, I am thy slave. Thy hidden will is my law and I shall obey thee for ever more.”
But God made no answer, and like a mighty tempest passed away. And after a thousand years I ascended the holy mountain and again spoke unto God, saying,
“Creator, I am thy creation. Out of clay hast thou fashioned me and to thee I owe mine all.”
And God made no answer, but like a thousand swift wings passed away. And after a thousand years I climbed the holy mountain and spoke unto God again, saying,
“Father, I am thy son. In pity and love thou hast given me birth,
and through love and worship I shall inherit thy kingdom.”
And God made no answer, and like the mist that veils the distant hills he passed away. And after a thousand years I climbed the sacred mountain and again spoke unto God, saying,
“My God, my aim and my fulfillment; I am thy yesterday and thou art my tomorrow.
I am thy root in the earth and thou art my flower in the sky,
and together we grow before the face of the sun.”
Then God leaned over me, and in my ears whispered words of sweetness,
and even as the sea that enfoldeth a brook that runneth down to her, he enfolded me.And when I descended to the valleys and the plains; God was there also.

In front of my bedroom window stands a beautiful Magnolia Tree. Next to it stands a Birdhouse, with small eggs in it and in a month or two a miracle comes out, a small little Birdie. God is not a necessity for the things you say he is. Is there more beauty in the hatching of a bird because god just did it and we accept he does miracles, or in knowing that the bird is a new member of a species that has been hatching this way for millions of year, and is in an unbroken chain that at one stage went though a long sequence of dinosaurs? Isn't that beauty?Stuart
