I am an avid photographer and love to travel. And although I haven't travelled much in the last few years, I have quite a collection of photos that I am putting online in my new website:

https://www.facebook.com/www.smartcountriesIt is very hard to gain traction for a new website, so I am using social media to do it initially with the hope that Google put the site in good standing and I get traffic from them.
Cheers.

Anyone want to post some photos from their travels or home town? They don't have to be great shots, but just give an impression of what it is like.

Do you have a Pinterest account as well?
February 2, 2014 at 9:16 am#369001ProclaimerParticipantYes I do. It is a good way to gain some traction for a new site.
http://www.pinterest.com/smartcountries/I have this other site that has had amazing traffic for the last 20 years. But the whole thing is hand coded and hard to manage. In the last year the traffic has gone down to a third of what it was and so I made changes to try and regain top spot for certain keywords, but to no avail. So I am just going to leave the site as is and put up new content once in a while with left-over images.
This new site is really easy to manage. Just create a page, associate an image to it in 2 clicks and then choose tag words and categories and it populates the right pages automatically. And I am using social media to gain traction, something I never had to do for the old site. Although recently I added a Twitter account to it.
This is the old site if you are curious. My long-term aim was to add in every single country in the continent I live in.
