I want to let everyone know that if a person avoids a question, then is taken to the Hot Seat and continues to avoid a question, then that person will be given a penalty square.

This is to curb the practice of avoidance which will further the mission here to test all things.

A sufficient answer can be “Yes”, “No”, “I don't know”, or a further explanation along those lines.

Obviously some questions cannot be answered such as loaded questions.

This will be moderated by moderators who have the ability to penalize members.

    Sounds fascist to me.

This forum is anarchist with a hint of fascist, two scoops of crazy, and a pinch of coo coo cha choo.

What if a person doesn't know they are on the hot seat, like the time I asked you a question and two months passed by, but you had no idea I even asked you the question?

    Hi Mike,

I do always answer your questions in whatever thread you ask me.
But I was only concerned after I seen my name on a question
you had been asking Nick, because you had ran from dis-
cussions with me on this very issue a few days earlier.

This is why the Hot Seat exists and why we are enforcing the rule that you must answer a reasonable question if it is asked from there. It is as much a benefit for yourself and Mike because if Mike is running away, then you can take action, and if Mike is not running away, then he can answer you from there and remove all doubt about what he thinks.

It's a win win for all, except the dodgers.

This whole idea seems very stressful. I think I am developing anxiety disorder because of it. I don't check this forum every day. Some times I don't check it for a month.

I would like to pre-answer any hot seat questions with the answer:

“I don't know,” thus legally dissolving myself of any neglectful un-answering of hot seat questions.

My lawyer says that this is more than fair. See you in a month.

Well of course that is taken into consideration. No one is trying to take advantage here. It is a system that is trying to give all a fair go.

Usually you let someone know they are on the Hot Seat via PM, email, or a message in a topic they frequent.

Let's for argument sake say you alerted someone, and they didn't answer and they got a penalty square for not answering. Then the person said, why do I have this square and you told them. Then they said, I wasn't aware of the question.

Then the simple answer here would be that they answer the question and the square is removed.

See even the Penalty Square will make them see the question if all other forms of communication don't work.

    That is fine.

The Hot Seat is designed to stop people avoiding someones questions because they are incriminating to their doctrine or view point.

“I don't know” is helpful too because it shows that the person doesn't know the answer, hence is not qualified to judge what you are saying if they are opposing you.

Let's say I say that Michael is an archangel and someone says to me that he is not. Then if I put him on the Hot Seat and ask him to honestly answer if this particular scripture says that Michael is an archangel, then he will either say yes which ends the debate, no, with some kind of proof which could prove to be helpful to me, or I don't know, which means the person is not qualified to refute what I am saying and instead should take up knitting.

It is not complicated david because it is about letting your yes be yes and your no be no. It helps keep things simple which is more in line with simplicity in Christ as opposed to big winded posts that have little substance, no clue, and false accusation.

Think of it as a way to expose things. And if you have the light, then you won't mind shining it on a hill for all to see.

The only people who have to worry are those who avoid questions because the love of the truth is not in them.

I have seen Mike take part in the unsavory practice expressed in my last post.
And I fear his abuse of power!

Ed, you really need to stop.  The only “unsavory practice” going on here is YOUR continuous claims of wrongdoing on my part.  How long ago did you start your “Loaded questions” thread?  And in all that time, how many examples of loaded questions from me have people posted in that thread?

NONE, right?  I've asked everyone on that thread to copy and paste a loaded question that I've ever asked.  And not ONE PERSON has ever been able to do that, have they?

So Ed, do you think it is fair and Christ-like conduct for you to keep bringing up some thread of yours, as if it condemns me, when in reality it amounts to nothing but baseless accusations from you?

    Quote (Ed J @ June 06 2012,06:12)
I have seen his abuse of power (in the past) by his deleting of
three of my posts that were strong evidence against his position.

Your posts were deleted because they were cut and pasted from another thread – where I had already addressed them.  Cutting and pasting the same post over and over is called “flooding”, Ed.  And flooding is against the rules of this site.  I am (and was) within my rights as a moderator to remove the “flood” posts.  And if that same thing happens again, I will most likely handle it the same way again.

It seems that you have made a couple of false accusations against me in this post, Ed.  What shall we do about that?  Shall I just turn the other cheek, like I do 99% of the time?

Keep it up, and that 1% is going to bite you sooner or later.

I can answer each of those questions with a YES or a NO, Dennison. If YOU can't, then perhaps there is something wrong with you.

You're right. I shouldn't waste time hinting at things.

Dennison, there IS something wrong with you! :)

    (Is that better?)
