My first time in a chat room

I've never been in a chatroom before. Does anyone know what a chatroom is?

Talk (chat) in a group (room) on the Internet. There is usually more than one conversation going on simultaneously in a given room, this is why they are called “chatrooms”. Many chatrooms are monitored for unacceptable, offensive, racial, violence, sexual content, but many are not. Keep in mind that anyone can view profiles and the chat going back and forth without their presence being known.
