Quote (Nick Hassan @ Nov. 05 2009,09:14) Hi BD,
Was Jesus wrong when he quoted the words of Abraham from his place of waiting in lk16?I am sure the men of old are in relationship with God including the ones Jesus met with on the mountain and who are spoken of as to be sitting at the wedding feast table. God's Spirit is faithful and never forsakes those God has so blessed.
There was no waiting place the Bosom of Abraham is in the presence of God you misunderstand the scriptures.God is The God of the Living hades and hell is the place of the dead.
Did you not read? 26 and besides all these things, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that they who are willing to go over from hence unto you are not able, nor do they from thence to us pass through.
You still worship Jesus as God and until you appreciate all of those that God has blessed you should consider yourself a trinitarian.

The chasm is fixed and some now sleep in the mansions of Christ.
Your view of us is not consequential.
You worship another god.November 5, 2009 at 10:08 pm#155163bodhithartaParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Nov. 05 2009,16:58) Hi BD,

What does scripture say?
It seems to draw distinctions between two places.
The rich man went to Hades but the poor man was carried by angels to 'Abraham's bosom' where Abraham spoke to the rich man from.November 8, 2009 at 3:22 am#155502bodhithartaParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Nov. 08 2009,13:53) Hi BD,

That's exactly what I have been saying. Abraham was already in the presence of God.November 8, 2009 at 7:04 am#155536NickHassanParticipantHi BD,

A real believer is not a person who wears a label.
But only Jesus is the door to God.
So, If Jesus is the only way to God how did those before Jesus get to God when it was clear that they did get to God before Jesus? The reason is Jesus was referring to those he was assigned to.
Otherwise all would always mean all in the bible which it does not. Otherwise Jesus would have fallen short of the glory of God and he did not.
Those who obeyed the law were in effect hoping in the promise of the law, the sacrifice that the law demanded. We can obey God in our conscience, the law, the gospel.
A true person would serve God in conscience and follow the law that is written on the heart if they knew nothing else. If they had the law they would in good conscience obey it and know their own failings. If they heard the gospel, then they would accept and receive the message.
Rom 1:16 (KJV)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that
believeth; The gospel is a great revelation in that we are judged by our response. Conscience is a light that shows that the law is written on our hearts. The written law is a great light because it is detailed and contractual. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation.
For those who have only law and obey the law, then grace is not taken away from them because they have never heard the gospel.

God has always given Grace and Mercy before sending Jesus and their were many who were given Grace and Mercy before the Law.November 8, 2009 at 5:39 pm#155561NickHassanParticipantHi BD,
