Hi BD,So you do think it is OK then – right?
Think what is okay?
to kill in the name of islam
To kill in the name of God has always been condoned by God Himself. You would not Kill if God told you to? If you would not then you are not a believer.

My question to “YOU” was – how would those in your scenario
know if it was God telling them to kill or if it was satan telling them?
It you instead that is dodging my question to you – so please answer.
Really, Ed?You think that by not answering my question you've answered my question?!?!?!?
I would say that that is the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard you say, but it's not.
In any case, this kind of thing may work on other people, but it's not going to work on me. In a discussion, both people have to be willing to answer the questions that are asked of them, or it doesn't work. Until you actually answer my question, we are at an impasse.

Hi WIT,Your question is like what is like to walk on the sun? That can't happen, so your 'what if' question is invalid as you would apply it to me.
But I did, in fact, answer your question as to how it might actually apply to someone.
Now please answer my question to you; OK?

Certainly you have no idea what you just stated. I have never talked about “gods” There is ONLY ONE GOD whether you are a Jew, Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic, Pagan…So you are simply confused if you say I prefer one “God” to another because I don't believe in “gods”September 15, 2012 at 7:59 pm#313053bodhithartaParticipantQuote (TimothyVI @ Sep. 16 2012,00:29) Quote (princess @ Sep. 16 2012,00:23) Quote (bodhitharta @ Sep. 11 2012,15:03) Quote (Ed J @ Sep. 11 2012,06:01) Hi BD, Do you believe it is OK to kill in the name of islam for this reason?

Rally Tim? Just point to ONE SINGLE post where I compared “gods” You won't find one because MY ENTIRE point over all these years on thisForum and others is that there are no “gods” There is ONLY ONE GOD. So either you were making a general statement that mostly pertains to Christians and others or you haven't been paying attention it is Muslim Belief and must be their declaration that “There is no god, but God” so no Muslim believes in “gods”September 16, 2012 at 9:54 am#313162TimothyVIParticipantYes Bod,
You have consistently maintained that there is only one God.
I have heard people that believe in different gods say the same thing.
But in telling someone else that they are wrong about their particular rendition of god, you are in reality comparing gods. You merely say that their god is really your God in desguise.
Besides, why did your one and only God say “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: “
Which other gods was he talking to?Tim

This is a serious question Ed.
Why do you think that God would not ask you to do that?He told Moses to have the Levites go through their camp and murder 3.000 of their own brothers, friends and neighbors.
“Take every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.”
He told Abraham to kill and burn his own son.
“Then God said, “Take your son to the land of Moriah and kill your son there as a sacrifice for me. This must be Isaac, your only son, the one you love. Use him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains there. I will tell you which mountain.”
He said this to Moses, “Now kill all the little boys [innocent kids]. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.
He let satan kill all of Job's family just to win a bet with him.
So how can you be so certain that he would not ask you to kill someone, since it is obvious from his biography that he has no qualms about commanding murder.
Do you think that you are not as special to Him, or that He just does not trust you? This is not a trick question Ed.
I really want to know how you can be so certain.Tim

Hi Tim,(1) One of the reasons is that the polluted genetics have been purged already. (this answer you may or may not accept)
(2) Because I know him. (this answer you will most likely reject)

!. Are you saying that Abraham and Moses had polluted genetics?
When were these polluted genetics purged if everyone is still a sinner?2. But if you know him then you know that he is known to ask people to do these things. If you know that he would not ask you, then how do you know.
I want to know because there are still many people today that kill because they said that God told them to.

Hey Tim … It has been a while … interesting topic … As you know there is a distinction between Killing and Murder … ” Thou shalt not murder” Do not wantedly plan or premeditate the taking of a life … Killing has been a time tested crucible of judgement throughout the bible and will probably continue until the second coming … God hates war yet he determines the outcome in order to facilitate judgement… It is mans cruelty to his fellow man that keeps this cycle going…God has nothing to do with that … In the case of Job there was no bet …The trials that Job underwent were extrodinary and showed us all that there is nothing we can do to save ourselves except rely on the grace of the creator…our rightousness is exemplified through our humility..September 16, 2012 at 2:32 pm#313190Ed JParticipantQuote (TimothyVI @ Sep. 17 2012,00:16) Thanks Ed, !. Hi Tim,1) In the time of Moses and Abraham there was still polluted genetics in the land at that time.
2) I explained this twice now, see point #1.
3) As I said before, how do they know it was God and not satan that told them to kill.
Are you now including going to war in your idea of killing?God bless

OK, Ed, I'll accommodate your nonsense. Why was Abraham's willingness* to kill Isaac acceptable?
a) Isaac was genetically polluted, so killing him was justified.
b) God told Abraham to do it which automatically made it a “righteous” act.
*Please note that I am explicitly talking about Abraham's willingness to do it, not whether or not he did it.
