Hi KW,
So you sayMay 21, 2014 at 5:35 pm#383321kerwinParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ May 21 2014,15:40) Hi KW,
So you say
Nick,I say it only because God states it. You would agree if you were not influenced by a false teaching that has embedded itself in your mind. I believe this as I think you understand there is body godly wisdom and ungodly wisdom.
May 21, 2014 at 5:45 pm#383322kerwinParticipantNick,
Assumption of Moses seems to be formatted as a parable. It seems to be written by a well intentioned writer and the wisdom of the story seems righteous but some of the details may be incorrect.
It is a non-Christian source that speaks of Moses being taken up into heaven and is believed to have originated in the First Century of before.

Are you interested in myths and legends?May 21, 2014 at 8:17 pm#383340kerwinParticipantNick,
I am interested in the truth and I know wisdom cries out from unlikely places. In the case of Mosses body being caught up into heaven I see there is some evidence there was such a belief among those God called his own. That teaching fits the evidence of Scripture where Satan and Michael disputed over the body of Moses and that Moses as well as Elijah appeared with Jesus on a certain mountain. There us a teaching that Elijah was also caught up into heaven. Neither are new teachings.

Sop a myth that seems to explain scripture to you is ok?May 21, 2014 at 10:09 pm#383357kerwinParticipantNick,
I have no idea what the the assumption of Moses is but the proverb it ends with sounds like the wisdom of God.
Quote Chapters 11 and 12 conclude the text with Moses exhorting Joshua not to fear, as history fully provides for God's covenant and plan. I do not think it is Moses' words and the author's name is not included but we do not know the author of the book of Hebrews. According to Wikipedia's summary I can see nothing wrong.
May 21, 2014 at 10:11 pm#383358kerwinParticipantNick,
There are those that say Scripture is a myth. I know God is continually speaking to us and that voice can be heard from surprising places.
May 21, 2014 at 10:17 pm#383359NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Certainly there are quotations in the bible from books not known to the canon.
Who knows?May 21, 2014 at 10:44 pm#383368kerwinParticipantNick,
I know that the children of Israel were and are still known as God's people. I know that there are now both those who speak truth and those that speak falseness among the church their were the like of both even then. In addition even those who speak falseness often mix the truth with what they say. My goal is to look for the truth and discard the false. To do that the Spirit must guide me.
May 21, 2014 at 10:46 pm#383370terrariccaParticipantand their are those that believe that the scriptures are so corrupt that it takes their own interpretation to find the truth ,and without their own participation nothing is true,
but they break the scriptures ,but they do not care because they feel that they are right
May 22, 2014 at 3:41 am#383445kerwinParticipantT,
They do not listen to the guidance of the Spirit.

May 26, 2014 at 3:26 am#384355kerwinParticipantT,
It is the Spirit of God and those that believe speak and act from God as they are carried along by it. They also learn from it.

Yes reborn believers who are led by the Spirit do.
But the mind deceives manyDecember 14, 2017 at 8:31 pm#820083NickHassanParticipantHi,
The BODY OF MOSES in Jude 9 refers to those of Israel.
1cor 10
’and all were baptised into Moses in the cloud and in the sea..”
Similar concept to the BODY OF CHRIST.
No man has ascended up to heaven
The Son of Man in Jn 3.13 in heaven refers to the Spirit of Christ
