Nick I agree with you even though I don't use the word Monogenes. He was a spirit and the firstborn of all creation. He had been with the Father a long time, and had the Fathers mind, that is what made them one. I also believe when He became man, because He had God's Mind, it was easier not to sin. (just my thinking cant prove that) And because He knew what was at stake. But He was fully Man. Not a Hybrid.

MONOGENES is the greek word translated clumsily as “only begotten” which no one can seem to understand.

But Jesus only became the Son of God when He was born of Mary. Prior to that He was God and was with God. Not created, but there in the beginning.
