Hi all
I thought I would create a poll where everyone could vote for whom they think would make a good moderator. This poll in no way will dictate to t8 who he should choose as a moderator or moderators. The following is the anniversary dates of the candidates…
seekingtruth (WM) Jan 2006
WorshippingJesus (Keith) Oct 2006
942767 (Marty) Sep 2006
Gene Balthrop (Gene) June 2007
Lightenup (Kathi) Feb 2008
Baker (George & Irene) June 2008
Kerwin (Kerwin) Jan 2009
Ed J (Ed J) Oct 2009
Mikeboll64 (Mike) Feb 2010
SimplyForgiven (Dennison) May 2010The poll only allows 10 choices so I picked the ones that were most active here and listed them by their anniversary date starting with the oldest member first which is seekingtruth. Jack (kangaroo jack) has stated he would not accept the role though I think he would be fine, so I left him out. If I left someone out that feels they shouldn’t have been I am sorry, I only had 10 choices. If I got your anniversary date wrong because you changed your name then please make note of it here.
The anniversary date does not necessarily qualify a candidate.
Thanks for all of your participation and thanks again t8 for a great forum!
Blessings Keith

Shimmer! Do you know something I don't? How do you know that Mike has not gone on in Love before. I think He has done the right thing, not to respond to Istari, don't you?

Hi Irene,I don't mean to sound “picky” here, but Shimmer said: “go on with love from above”.
She didn't say: 'start moving forward with love from above' …like you may be suggesting.

Thanks for your recommendation. I think we both have moderating experience with raising 10 kids between us, lol. We should be able to run a small company after that. I want to be open to what the Lord has for me and I know t8 needs help. I think that the men are more responsive to men keeping them in line. I do better with children that act like children rather than men who act like childrenJanuary 6, 2011 at 3:40 am#232139LightenupParticipantI would like to see Theodore on the list also, he has experience with boardroom power tactics…and I would have liked to vote for more than one. I see many that might do well.
Maybe there should be a three month trial period for anyone considering the position with the freedom of not continuing and/or maybe a rotation where you agree to moderate for a specified term like board members often have.
January 6, 2011 at 2:26 pm#232179shimmerParticipantIrene, Mike understands what i'm saying, don't worry bout it.
Your welcome Kathi.

KathiYou are right about Theodore. He doesn't post that much in fact since his anniversay in 2008 he has a little over 1100 post.
Since he doesn't come around much I didn't remember. I was trying to include those who were around the most. I only remembered seekingtruth because someone had mentioned him.

January 7, 2011 at 12:08 am#232215KangarooJackParticipantI voted for my nominee Keith (Worshippingjesus).
Keith,
Thanks for respecting my wishes and not nominating me. I won't be spending enough time here anyway. PV is my home now.

I do not believe I would be a blessing to the position as most consider me too heavy handed and in most cases that may be true. In this case I am prone not to see abuse as abuse as I have grown to expect it.
I do what I am best fitted to about the matter as just another laymember of this site.
I am not voting for as my judgment is anything but good on the matter. I would leave it in the hands of T8 and suggest that he have any monitor serve for only a trial period and perhaps have several individuals serve in rotation. In that way he can get a feel of how they are in the position.

I am always wondering what are the moderator qualification ??is it to keep order in applying the legalistic views of the site HN ?if this is the case then anyone who is honest to deal in a neutral environment could be selected,(neutral include is own views)
I do believe that the moderator should not be looked at as a power position but as a help position,
those are my 2 pennies.

January 7, 2011 at 10:51 pm#232347shimmerParticipantBest thing to always do is to try and put yourself in someone elses shoes. JA if I remember right was the first moderator here after Nick.
If I heard right then JA is the one who recommended Mike to t8, so Mike got his position as a second moderator thanks to JA.
The two of them should have worked together, however this doesn't appeared to have happened. There's alot that should of happened but even certain powers Mike had and JA didn't. Even Mike has admitted he should have discussed thing's with JA and t8 before acting,
Mike could issue tiles but JA couldn't.
If I remember right, one day JA said on the forum that he had had his moderator status removed, this was due to a few posts being reported, and Mike recommending to t8 that JA be removed.
How would you feel ?
JA detests false teaching and upholds truth. In such a confusing world this is something people need. JA has done this to me, rather than feel hurt as I did and sulk around over it, I accepted his correction and moved on.
There was a time here when people couldn't handle his then more gentler way's, and turned against him, I have seen many times when he was called 'abusive…..condescending' etc and it was way over exaggerated. He wasn't that bad back then. It seemed more like people were too scared of being exposed.
One thing I have noticed is JA only does this for reason. At school, a teacher is not always easy,
There are people here who seem to only seek after their own glory, they have no concern as JA does for others, only their 'selected few'
I think it's wrong what happened, and I understand how JA feel's.
Also, how many 'teachers' can teach when there are so many who are trying to teach all different thing's ? I believe JA is the closest one here to the truth.
January 7, 2011 at 11:35 pm#232351LightenupParticipantHi Karmarie,
What do you think would happen to JA on the other forum where you spend time? Didn't you mention that he would be long gone? I thought that is what you said…if not, sorry…maybe I misunderstood. If that is what you said, why would you think he would be long gone?Peace!
January 7, 2011 at 11:52 pm#232352Worshipping JesusParticipantQuote (shimmer @ Jan. 07 2011,16:51) Also, how many 'teachers' can teach when there are so many who are trying to teach all different thing's ? I believe JA is the closest one here to the truth.
Hi ShimmerAnd that is because you mostly agree with him and believe like he does which also is the reason that you do not see the abusive behavour. Lets face it, I have never seen him come against you like he has others.
Its a fact that Chemestry can always come in to play but usually that would only be like one person.
The problem is there seems to be more than a couple people that have experienced abusive behavour from him.
And most here would disagree with your opinion that JA is closer to the truth.
Its Okay to disagree and even have heated debate but when someone resorts to personal attacks that is against the rules on most forums and it is not at all Christ like, and it especially should not come from a moderator IMO.
Blessings Keith.
January 8, 2011 at 12:11 am#232354shimmerParticipantHi Kathi.
On the other site I go on, there is another problem. Anyone there who speaks things they disagree on are banned.
You would be banned Kathi
Mike would be banned
JA would be banned'
Ed would be….excetera.The difference is that you have to stick within their statement of beliefs to a point.
Here is where hnet is different, you can freely look into things.
People here know JA well
Ja was given the job of moderator
That was taken from him.
He tried hard to behave and change did anyone see that ? But then he was further provoked and got angry. 'But he is fine and he will bounce back up. We all learn lessons through things we go through and this seems to be one of the best places to learn those lessons ! As long as we help each other it will be fine.
He has a 'right to a defence' though,
Everyone does.
No-one heard his side, and im sure there is A LOT more to it than just that, so theres no need for anyone to debate back here with me is there ? Mike had his say, so fair is fair. Any further debate on this will cause more problems and I think this site has had just about enough of that. (so hush Mike) your doing well.
So, moving on now.
January 8, 2011 at 12:19 am#232357shimmerParticipantSorry, above post to you too Keith.
January 8, 2011 at 12:21 am#232358shimmerParticipantAnd kathi and keith, I have no desire to debate here with this, just wanted to have my say on how I felt with it all.
love to you both, moving on as I said.
