Quote 38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41″Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed.[f] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
I have been going through somewhat of a fiery trial as of late and the Lord just showed me the meaning so I had to share it.My Wife and I for many years have tried to be pleasing to the Lord, we had tried to run our business by the highest christian principles, We helped others to the best of our abilities, we gave money as the Lord showed us needs, we homeschooled our kids, we worked together as a family (wife and sons) in the business, we studied the word, we turned the other cheek, we tried to be examples to all by living a sacrificial life that glorified God.
Then a year ago I lost my company, my job, my savings, my reputation and I'm being sued for 7 million dollars when I do not have $7 to my name. It is all so unfair it just makes you want to scream.
Of course I've been seeking God for an answer as to why and just a little bit ago He showed me that He has given me the opportunity to stop being Martha (worried and upset about many things) and to be Mary for awhile (to sit at the Lord's feet listening).
Over this last year the Father has truly given me the desires of my heart. I had longed for time off, I got it, I had wanted more time with the family, I got it, I wanted to fix and finish things around the house, I got it, I had wanted more time to study His word, I got it, I wanted to understand various principles of God and though this trial I now understand things I would never have learned any other way (I could go on and on).
I have learned more in a short time under trials then I had in decades of being busy, not trying to earn my salvation, I knew better then that but trying to be pleasing to the Lord (which was my prayer for years). How you respond under trial can be very pleasing to the Lord and give Him more glory than many lifetimes of Good works.
If your going through a trial do not allow satan to steal your joy for it truly is our strength.

Thanks for sharing your testimony. Remember Job's trials and how the Lord gave him twice as much in the end. It is through these trials that we learn to trust God and to apply the Word of God in our daily lives regardless of the circumstance.
May God Bless you and your family
Keep trusting the Lord he won't fail you!!July 13, 2008 at 6:42 pm#97194IreneParticipantQuote (seekingtruth @ July 13 2008,20:31) Quote 38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.
