Is there a difference between LORD and Lord.  Throughout the Old Testament you will see LORD in capital letters and in the New Testament Lord written this way.  So does it mean that Jesus is Lord yet God the Father LORD?  That is my Question……and is there a difference….is God our Father LORD greater then His Son Lord…. I think so… what do you think….Irene

    Hi Irene,

I noticed that no one wanted to answer your thread and I am not sure why.

LORD (all caps) referred to the YHVH in Hebrew. Lower case is normally from Adonai in Hebrew.

    Greek is Kurios.

As you know Lord is a title of someone in a higher position.

LORD for some want to claim this is the NAME of God.

I myself feel that it is traslated how it should be LORD, and is a title for the “Big Guy” God.

Christian circles place Jesus as Adonai and God as YHVH/LORD.

    HI Irene,

Isn't it funny how some people keep arguing over the same
garbage over and over and over again and again and again.

First: [יהוה] YÄ-hä-vā translates directly into The English as YHVH. (AKJV Bible: JEHOVAH)
Secondly: [יהשוע] YÄ-shü-ă translates directly into English as Joshua. (AKJV Bible: Jesus)

[אדני] Âdônây in Hebrew means: “Lord” or “Owner” and is akin to
[Κύριος] kü-rē-ŏs in Greek meaning “The Same”: “Lord”/ “Owner”

“You” cannot argue with this “Bible Truth”! (LORD: means Owner)
I will orchestrate my explanation around the term “Owner”.
The AKJV Bible uses: Lord for [יהשוע] and LORD for [יהוה].

The names have been changed to protect the innocent! (Acts.18:15)
In the red corner it is “The Trinitarians” VERSUS “The non-Trinitarians”
in the blue corner: in a nonsensical useless battle over word structures.

This nonsensical fight is merely over word structures like master, king, Lord, Creator and God.
I will illustrate just how ridiculous their fight is: it's like the Abbot and Costello skit: who's on first!
I will illustrate my point using the term “Owner”, because this word adds clarity that the others lack.

The Trinitarians do say: Jesus is “The Owner”.
The non-Trinitarians then reply: Jesus is NOT
“The Owner”, Jesus' Father is “The Owner”!

The Same issue: A Closer Examination

Technically Jesus is: “owner” but NOT “THE OWNER”!
This can be clearly seen and understood using the word “Owner”!

Jehovah is “The Owner” and Jesus is The Son of “The Owner”.
Jehovah CANNOT DIE, so Jehovah will ALWAYS remain “The Owner”!
A Son can 'only' become become fully “The Owner” if the Parent dies,
which in JEHOVAH's case cannot happen; because GOD CANNOT DIE!

Now Change The Word, (Ha Ha Ha, ha ha ha) GET IT; That's exactly what both sides are doing!
They change “THE WORD” with useless substitutes like [†] master, King, Lord, Creator and God.
In this matter “The Word”(HolySpirit) is clear! 1Thess.4:8 He therefore that despiseth,
Here despiseth not man, but GOD, who hath also given unto us HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

Witnessing to the world in behalf of YHVH (Psalm 45:17)
יהוה האלהים (JEHOVAH GOD) YÄ-hä-vā  hä ĔL-ō-Hêêm!
    Ed J (AKJV Joshua 22:34 / Isaiah 60:13-15)

    Davidbfun,

It may not be that no one wanted to answer. Sometimes someone may raise a thread but it gets overlooked because there is a fast moving number of other threads in action at that time.
It is then up or down to the thread owner to, again, bring it back to the fore, which Arnold clearly did not do.

In addition, the tooic has been done over again and again and again but the majority, and especially some stalwarts, continue to refuse to accept reality because they have been indoctrinated and the truthful explanation creates a fear against their current belief.

If they have a formula of 'Lord = Master' then 'LORD' also equals 'Master' and no one can say to them 'Lord' does not equal 'LORD'.
They are written differently for a purposeful reason.
Many can't understand because they don't understand Hebrew culture nor how Scripture translaters try to comply with the ruling church classes directions on Scripture interpretation. And lastly, they look with modern language eyes. “Lord=LORD” because the 'letters are the same', in the same way they cannot understand the difference between the rendering of 'God', 'GOD' and 'god'.
In fact, the Trinitarians do but they are just taking the 'Michael' with Mikebol who seems to 'bite' every time he is poked.

Coming in from fairly new, you should more easily see who is for what and who is dithering and who is just a timewaster.
