    Hey Nick,

Question for you – when someone like Kevin looks at the Bible as critically as he has, and he finds the things that he has found, what do you suggest he do with his findings? A lot of what he has found is there for anyone to see (I've verified a lot of what he has presented as being obviously true). A lot of the loop holes do exist. Is it not surprising that some men will look at these findings and want to know why they are lacking credibility? Of course other men will excersise more faith (because indeed more faith is needed to believe something that appears questionable).

I just tend to think that God knew this would happen. If we have the Word of God that is flawed, do you really think that God is going to expect intelligent men not to figure out that it is flawed? And if it is indeed flawed, do you think that an intelligent God would want his children to keep following something that is obviously not his Word (for instance 1 John 5:7)? Wouldn't you rather think that God is up there thinking, “Come on, kids, don't you know me better than that! Just because it's dried ink doesn't mean it's true!”. I don't know, that's why I'm sincerely asking.

    Hi mandy,
Perhaps follow the wisdom of Mary.
    Luke 2:19
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

We cannot know it all now.
We will always have got some things wrong.
Jumping to premature conclusions is not of wisdom

    Hi mandy,
There are no prizes for clever.
The Jewish leaders were so clever they stumbled over the stone.

Notice how his own family later thought Jesus was losing it. I suppose Mary forgot what the angel told her?

Mar 3:21 And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.”

    Hi KJ,
    Quite so.
May religious spirits pretend to be of God and confuse folk.
Many thought he had a demon but reason showed them the demonised do no works in the power of God.

The Romans too thought the same of Paul

    Acts 26
24And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.

25But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

That still does not explain why his family would want to take hold of him if Mary had been told he was to be the savior of the world…

Shows how humanity needs salvation from doubts does it not?

Not really. It rather shows that the bible is full of human faults in its writing.

    Hi KJ,
So Mary and his brothers did not come for him?
Or did they not say what was reported?
If you do not accept the writing why quote it?

They likely did because they were worried about his mental health and behavior.

Or did they not say what was reported?

Snore. Same ol' Nick. Either 100% or 0%. You recently gave Mandy a link which you admitted you did not agree completely with. So why did you give it to her if you did not agree 100%?

    Hi KJ,
Why close your eyes to truth when it can be shown from lots of unexpected places?

Well since the bible is an “expected place”, I'm curious what you will say next.

Curious, but if Jesus was to be “accepted” as the Christ (or Messiah) of God why would he then say:

Mat 8:4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof to them.”

Mat 16:20 Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.

Mar 8:29 And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.”
Mar 8:30 And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him.

Luk 9:20 Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”
Luk 9:21 And he strictly charged and commanded them to tell this to no one,

So how could Jesus be “rejected” if he was never to be shown as Christ according to his own commands?!?

    Hi KJ,
    It pays to advertise?
    He was overworked already.
He told folk he was the Christ but his works spoke for him anyway.

Where? I know of only one place where he admitted to being “Christ”. The woman at the well. To a woman who had been married many times. Great place to spread the word.

Oh, and show me in the OT where the coming son of David would be recognized as a miracle worker.

    Hi Kj,
    There are more.
    Mk 14

61But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

62And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Tell why should the meek and humble one have gone around saying
    “I am the Christ”
    ?

Empty promises thus far. Yawn. I'm sure the high priest thought the same.

Well, Christians claim he was rejected as the Christ. Obviously they would have to know he claimed to be such to make a rejection, right?

    Hi Kj,
Would you rather follow the High Priest and the pharisees?
    Jn9
13They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.

14And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

15Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.

16Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

17They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.

18But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.

19And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?

20His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

21But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.

22These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

23Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

24Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

25He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

26Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?

27He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?

28Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.

29We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.

30The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.

31Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

32Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.

33If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.

34They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

I dunno about you, but I'd rather not follow any human. You seem to have no qualms about doing so, but you pick and choose which human you will bow down to.
