Ah, but it's not the Hebrew word “el” that distinguishes Jehovah from all the other gods, Pierre. The word “el” is generic, and refers to any “mighty one” – whether man, angel, Satan, Jesus, or Jehovah.What distinguishes Jehovah from the rest of the gods is that He alone is the MOST HIGH god. He alone is the god OF the other gods. He alone is the ALMIGHTY god.
So it's not that Jehovah is the ONLY god, but that He is the MOST HIGH one, and the ONLY one who created the heavens, the earth, and everything in them (INCLUDING those other gods).

Now look at these words that my Trinitarian friend Daniel wrote to me just today in our debate thread:
my faith is simple: there is only one true God and Jesus is either a true god or a false God.
See how the Trinitarians did that? They convinced people that the scriptures LITERALLY only teach of ONE real (or “true”) god, and that all others gods are “so-called gods” or “false gods”.
And they did it for the very reason Daniel just cited above. His words say, in effect, Since I believe the lie that there is LITERALLY only ONE real god, and Jesus IS definitely called a god, it means Jesus has to be either that ONE real god, or a “false god”. Therefore, I choose to believe Jesus IS that ONE real god – because I couldn't stomach calling my Lord and Savior a “false god”.
The Trinitarians' plan has worked wonderfully for them, don't you think?

I only had to add the letter “N” to change 'either' to “NEITHER”.

What I see is a bunch of inconsistencies. I will name a few of them for you:
1. The bible says there are no other Gods – except when it says there is.
2. GOD created the world by himself – except when it says Jesus helped.
3. The bible “The Word” of God – except when it says Jesus is the word.There are more, but we will leave it at theses three for now.

Not exactly, Ed. You had to add that “N”………… AND you had to ignore countless scriptures that speak of other gods. You had to ignore the fact that Jesus is called a god in at least 4 different scriptures (perhaps more).Let me see if I can take baby steps for you, Gene, Abe, 2B, and some others…………

Don't forget Kerwin. He also believes Paul that there are indeed many gods and many lords, both in heaven and on earth.The question I asked in my post to Ed should be the beginning of you guys being able to shed those “general consensus” blinders you've been wearing all your lives. It should be the beginning of you guys being able to accept the scriptures for what they truly teach – without trying to protect the Bible from itself.
In fact Abe, I'm going to give you the answer to that question: Angels.
When Psalm 8:5 speaks of Jehovah making mankind a little lower than “the gods”, it is referring to Jehovah making mankind a little lower than the angels – as can be easily assessed from the way Paul quoted that psalm in Hebrews 2:7.
Can we all at least agree that the “gods” of Psalm 8:5 are in fact angels, like Paul said? YES or NO?

“Christ” or more properly “Messiah” in the Hebrew means “God's anointed LEADER”.
*AND* “Lord” in **BOTH** Greek and Hebrew means “OWNER”.God hath made Jesus both “OWNER and “LEADER” (ref, Acts 2:36)
Therefore GOD's Son is: “LEADER of leaders and OWNER of owners” (ref, 1Timothy 6:15)God bless
