You can argue with scripture about Jesus being a man and that flesh contributes nothing.
This is not an issue for me. You are the one who introduced the idea that Jesus is but a flesh being and Christ is the Spirit, thus Jesus Christ is the combination of the Spirit entering the man Jesus. It is you who is firing that gun, thus any crossfire is from your own hand.
Jesus Christ came in the flesh. Jesus Christ was born a baby. He was baptised with John’s baptism and this confirmed to John that Jesus was the messiah and the son of God.
February 8, 2016 at 5:03 pm#808518ProclaimerParticipantOf course the further you get from truth the more wrong everyone else seems to be.
Listen to the Spirit
This is true. The further you depart the truth, the more wrong everyone else seems.
Instead of judging others, we should instead judge ourselves and judge the teachings people bring here.
Jesus Christ came in the flesh.
February 8, 2016 at 5:06 pm#808519NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
You have yet to find one example of the Spirit teaching through Jesus Christ
yet you admonish believers who do hear the Spirit.
Whom do you serve?
February 8, 2016 at 5:23 pm#808521ProclaimerParticipantFor some strange reason you choose to avoid listening to the Spirit in other teachings.
I believe the below verses and for this I am not only opposed, but also accused of not listening to the Spirit. What Spirit are you talking about though? Because I believe these verses, thus I believe the Spirit that inspired them. But what of those who teach against these?
- The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
- He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind…
- Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
- This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph,
- When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
- It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.
- but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
- And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.
- This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
February 8, 2016 at 5:43 pm#808522NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
You are comfortable with your doctrines and happy to admonish those who see deeper things so please continue.
Ignoring the Spirit brings it’s own reward.
February 9, 2016 at 10:25 am#808568ProclaimerParticipantIgnoring the Spirit brings it’s own reward.
You say I ignore the Spirit, but those who are born from above have the Spirit and it is they who have love. Those who do not have love are not born from above because God is love. You can condemn, accuse, and be critical all you like, but if you have no love, then you are a clanging gong that is preaching legalism and missing out on the Spirit. Jesus condemned the Pharisees not for their zeal in the law, but because they ignored the weightier matter of the spirit of the Law.
Yes we have to be born from above and the proof is love. God is love. The more harsh you become, the more harsh the measure of judgement against you. You set the measure yourself by how you treat others. My advice is to stop self-destructing. You seem to be angry and are in meltdown mode. Take a breather and take a walk in the bush and connect with God. Be patient and wait upon him. He is there for all of us.

If you cannot hear the Spirit should you be an advisor of others?
February 9, 2016 at 10:31 am#808571ProclaimerParticipantYou are comfortable with your doctrines and happy to admonish those who see deeper things so please continue.
I am comfortable with the idea that scripture is right. I believe and trust these scriptures. And you accuse me of not having the spirit because I believe and teach these scriptures. How did you manage to get to the point of speaking badly about people who believe and teach scripture? It seems that only you are right in your own eyes and even scripture plays second fiddle.

But if you have not love, then how do you know that I do not hear from the Spirit. If you are of the Spirit, you will have love because God is love. John taught those that love are born of God.
February 9, 2016 at 10:37 am#808573ProclaimerParticipantWhy do you accuse me day and night?
February 9, 2016 at 10:38 am#808574NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Should we comfort the lost or pull them from the fire?
Surely hearing the Spirit in the words of scripture is the most basic requirement of a teacher?
February 9, 2016 at 11:17 am#808577AndrewADParticipantDear T8,
Just remember that “the spirit” is the easy answer to everything under the sun and everything not under the sun and Nick may well be the only one currently alive on our planet that has it. 🙂
February 9, 2016 at 11:21 am#808578NickHassanParticipantHi Andrew,
Thank you for understanding that it is all about the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit spoke through Jesus Christ, the prophets and apostles.
For those who have ears to hear the Spirit still speaks from the words of scripture
February 9, 2016 at 11:47 am#808579AndrewADParticipantPrecious Nick,
I thank you for understanding also and I hear and speak only by the Spirit just like you. So surely we must be Spirit brothers. All Praise to Jesus Christ who is that true Spirit!!!
February 9, 2016 at 12:02 pm#808581AndrewADParticipantAnd Dear Nick,
Please don’t try pulling a Gene on me by saying I exclude that other member of the Trinity for Jesus Christ is that image and embodiment of the Father.
February 9, 2016 at 3:03 pm#808596NickHassanParticipantHi Andrew,
You have your god and your planet.
February 9, 2016 at 3:17 pm#808598AndrewADParticipantAnd so do you Nicky.
February 12, 2016 at 9:20 am#808713ProclaimerParticipantShould we comfort the lost or pull them from the fire?
Surely hearing the Spirit in the words of scripture is the most basic requirement of a teacher? So let me get this straight. I believe that he (Jesus) existed in the form of God, emptied himself, came in the flesh, was born into this world as the son of the living God and the Christ, did the will of God, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is seated at the right-hand of God in the glory he had with him before the cosmos.
And I do not hear the Spirit because of the bit about Jesus being the Christ at birth, even though scripture agrees with me. Additionally, I do not hear the Spirit because I believe Jesus actually spoke in the parts of the Bible that say: ‘Jesus said’ but spoke his Father’s will instead of the Father actually speaking through the flesh vessel as you seem to teach. Thus, in your great love and generosity , you pull me from the fire.
That’s it right? Am I hearing you correctly? Should I say ‘thank you’?
February 12, 2016 at 9:21 am#808714ProclaimerParticipantDear T8,

Thanks for the reminder. I keep forgetting.
February 12, 2016 at 11:39 am#808726NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Jesus existed in the form of God?
That is not in scripture.
If you would teach be careful with the sacred words.
