GoodMay 26, 2014 at 10:46 pm#384569942767ParticipantQuote (Wakeup @ May 26 2014,15:35) Quote (942767 @ May 26 2014,14:15) Quote (Wakeup @ May 26 2014,13:58) The brain is the hardware and soft ware.Sort of.(flesh).
The mind is the spirit of it.A lustful mind is also a lustful spirit.
A cheating mind is also a cheating spirit.
A rellious mind is also a rebellious spirit.A mind focused on heaving good times, is the spirit of that particular person.
A mind focused on money,is the spirit of that particular person.
A mind of material things only, is the spirit of that particular person.
This mind of men, needs to be replaced by the mind of Christ, which is the mind of God.The mind of the flesh is evil continuously.
Jesus came to give men a new mind, called the renewing of the mind. The human mind can only be changed(renewed by following God's teachings, which the Hs will teach us.A Human mind can not inherit the kingdom of God.
We need the mind(spirit) of Christ to inherit the kingdom of God.The mind of Christ is peace; patients; humbleness; obedience to God; seeking God, rather than satisfying one self. For that can lead to all kinds of sin.Our sacrifice is to come out of Babylon, and come into Zion.
The city of peace, and God fearing.
Come out of Babylon means to break the bond with the spirit of Babylon.Seperate one self from Babylon;by the renewing of our minds. The mind(spirit) of Babylon is the love of the material world.
She has plenty to entice us with all her delicacies.
She is full of what the flesh wants, and hunger for.Rather seek the spirit that can save us in Christ, and be with Christ forever.
Mans mind is evil, working contra to God's will.
The spirit of the flesh we have inherited from the serpent.wakeup.
One can have a lustful thought or any evil thought of any kind, which is called temptation, and it starts with the mind, but does not become a part of your spirit until you yield to the temptation. When the thought enters your heart, then is when you have sinned, as Jesus said about lusting after a woman's flesh. It is not a sin to be tempted. Jesus was tempted every way that we have been and did not sin.
Love in Christ,
Marty
To look at a woman with lust is already a sin,but still in the heart. Keep on looking and and imagining; soon it will become reality. Then sin is born. The idea is to dismiss the evil thinking, before it becomes unbearable, and becomes the bitrh of sin,by actually doing it.
This is How satan always works:
He knows everyones weaknesses.Lets say;a weakness for pretty women.
At the right opportunity, he will introduce the person
to a good looking willing woman. And so, he will live in sin. And she also will introduce him to all kinds of other sins.
Because she is unknowingly by herself, send by satan.Satan main targets are the preachers, and teachers, and principals.
They also will tnot each the truth.wakeup.
Hi Wakeup:Jesus said if you look upon a woman to lust after her flesh, you have already committed adultery in your heart. In other words, if could of, you would have.

Mk7
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
True, once those thoughts enter your heart, and come out through your speech or your actions, they are called sin, and defile your spirit. And then, there is only one remedy, the blood of Jesus.

The blood of Jesus is sprinkled on the saved for forgiveness.1Jn1
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

We enter by faith with a repentant heart.Salvation is by faith so that it might be by grace, not of works, lest any man should boast.
Quote Act 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
Act 16:26
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.Act 16:27
And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.Act 16:28
But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.Act 16:29
Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,Act 16:30
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?Act 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.Water baptism is an action showing that we have believed and have repented, and is symbolic of our union with him in his death, burial, and resurrection, but water baptism does not save anyone. If one has not believed with a repentant heart, and is baptized, is he saved?

Jesus came for the lostMay 27, 2014 at 2:08 am#384645942767ParticipantHi Nick:
Did Noah have to believe God, and build the ark and then follow his instructions and get all of the animals and his family, and himself into the ark prior to the rain coming?
In the verse from 1 Peter he states that water baptism does not put away the filth of the flesh, and so, if it does not then there must be something else that does? Unless one has believed the gospel with a repentant heart water baptism has no meaning. If one is in the ark by believing with a repentant heart then it is symbolic of salvation. Peter said it was “a like figure”. Like Noah believed God and was in the ark when the water came the water floated the ark and saved him from destruction.
2 Peter 2:38, Peter is speaking to those who had a part in crucifying the Lord, and when they realized that the gospel was true, they asked Peter what they needed to do to be saved, and he told them “Repent”, and then came the action of water baptism. They had believed already, and a prerequisite to water baptism was for them to “repent”.

Water baptism in itself does not save anyone. I used to believe as you do, because that is what Peter said, right, and the Lord took me through some trials showing me what I have discussed with you.It is symbolic of your union with the Lord in his death, burial, and resurrection, and we should be baptized in water when we have believed the gospel with a repentant heart.
If Noah had not been ark when the waters came, he would have drowned with the rest of them.
Many in the church have been baptized in water thinking that they are saved, and they have not received the Holy Spirit. I was one of them. I was raised by Catholic parents, and I was baptized as an infant, sprinkled, and I was a member of a Southern Baptist church, and was baptized in water by immersion, but I had not really believed or repented when I was baptized in water, and I did not have a personal relationship with the Lord until I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Cornelius and his band received the Holy Spirit the instant they believed when the Apostle Peter was preaching the gospel to them. They were baptized in water after they had recieved the Holy Spirit. Were they saved prior to being baptized in water?

No, I don't oppose the Word of God. I know what the Apostle Peter meant by saying that water baptism does now save, comparing this to the ark floating on the water, and eight is the number that was saved, and represents a new beginning which we also receive when we are born again, a new beginning, through my study of the scriptures which must be line upon line and precept upon precept. You should know better than to take one scripture and make a doctrine out of it without understanding what was meant by the scripture which must be line upon line and precept upon precept.

The real battleground is the mind.
Upbringing, culture, the influence of the world.
Education has already laid a foundation of our understanding.
As with Paul we have to regard all as rubbish for the sake of knowing the Spirit of Christ.
We must all be transformed by the renewal of our minds and that starts with submission to the teaching of the Spirit.
The hope is to have the mind of Christ.
