I have not said they are one I said they are united or in unity, totally like minded and yet individual but they are number one for there is none above them. The Scriptures have spoken not me for I only boast in The Lord and The Truth.
I am not into starting the trinity lie Rome has already done that, but I not into the monotheistic lie either.
October 23, 2005 at 11:51 pm#18942NickHassanParticipantHi y2t,
Thank you. Was the Son always in unity with God? Not in being as such, except that the Spirit of God indwelled the Son of God. I believe that unity was expressed in Phil 2.5-6 by his decision not to chellenge the Father for equality but choosing instead to submit and obey. He emptied himself and came as the servant, living as we do till infilled with the Spirit at his baptism and beginning the Work of God on earth in the name of the Father.October 24, 2005 at 1:01 am#18943NickHassanParticipantHi y2t,
The son of God had his own will. He said so in Jn 6.38 and when he was in the Garden
“not my will but thine be done”
His submission was a constant daily thing that the Father could use his golden vessel to do His work.October 24, 2005 at 2:30 am#18944kenrchParticipantDoesn't this sum it up.

John 20:28 2 cor 3:17October 24, 2005 at 8:11 pm#18947NickHassanParticipantHi liljon,
Jesus said the Father was the one the Jews called God.[Jn 8.54] Do you not agree with him?October 24, 2005 at 8:33 pm#18948davidParticipantAre there any people out there who think that Satan is God?–2 Cor 4:4.
It says it right there. He must be God. Who else could it be talking about?
As well, at least three times Satan is referred to as “the ruler of the world.”If Jesus is the God of the Bible because he's specifically referred to as Mighty God and a god, then why couldn't we use the same reasoning to say that Satan is God?
Or Israel's human judges?
Or the angels?
They're all referred to as gods as well, a couple of times.Oh, but that's right. Jehovah is specifically called God roughly 1000 times in the Scriptures.
JOHN 8:54
“Jesus answered: “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father that glorifies me, he who YOU say is YOUR God;”
(I've looked up a few other Bible translations and they all convey the same thought. I'm not sure why you mentioned this scripture. It tells us that they they considered Jesus' Father to be God.)Why did John write what he did?
JOHN 20:31
“But these have been written down that YOU may believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, and that, because of believing, YOU may have life by means of his name.”dave

Hi soxan,
Did you not know that the Son of God was filled with the spirit of God himself and revealed the nature and power of God to the world? Truly in him God was and is with us.October 24, 2005 at 9:12 pm#18955AnonymousGuestWhat i do know is that you reject sound reason and the Word of God. I also know that you reject common sence and plain logic. I know that your no scholar and that you formulate your doctrines on your cults teachings and not the Word of God!

Hi soxan,
Amen. The Word was the firstborn and will be the last – we are in him and he is in God. He is the firstborn from the dead. He died and was raised to eternal life and we can follow him and be in that assembly, the assembly of the firstborn. God did not die.October 24, 2005 at 9:20 pm#18957AnonymousGuestNick when you reject Him you can`t follow Him. What your doing is not subtle. You willfully reject the Word of God. And to make matters worse you add your own words. No Truth no Light.
October 24, 2005 at 9:28 pm#18958NickHassanParticipantHi soxan,
I show you what is written in scripture. Why does that upset you?October 24, 2005 at 9:38 pm#18959davidParticipantSoxan, I've noticed that as soon as someone swears on this forum, everything they say after that is meaningless and can't really be taken seriously. If you are trying to help Nick see the light because of your love, where is the love Jesus spoke of?
JOHN 13:35
“By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.””October 24, 2005 at 9:45 pm#18960davidParticipantEmmanuel???
Does this mean that Jesus is the same as Jehovah?Matt. 1:23, RS: “‘Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emman´u-el’ (which means, God with us [“God is with us,” NE]).”
In announcing Jesus’ coming birth, did Jehovah’s angel say that the child would be God himself? No, the announcement was:
“He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High.” (Luke 1:32, 35, RS; italics added.)
And Jesus himself never claimed to be God but, rather, “the Son of God.” (John 10:36, RS; italics added.) Jesus was sent into the world by God; so by means of this only-begotten Son, God was with mankind.—John 3:17; 17:8.
It was not unusual for Hebrew names to include within them the word for God or even an abbreviated form of God’s personal name. For example, Eli´athah means “God Has Come”; Jehu means “Jehovah Is He”; Elijah means “My God Is Jehovah.” But none of these names implied that the possessor was himself God.
