    Hi,

25years ago I had spent some time with a married couple who were searching for the truth and had tried to convince them of the need for baptism in the name of Jesus.

They were sceptical and we went home.

The husband headed off on a trip and his wife stayed at home with her family.

She felt troubled and prayed that God would give her a sign. She specifically prayed that if it was true that they should be baptised that God would send her husband back home. Thirty minutes later he walked in and said he had a strong feeling he needed to go back home.

    They sought water baptism asap.

We have seen very little of them since as they shifted away.

2 weeks ago the wife died after a short illness.

I was reminded of this today when I met the man’s brother.

Nobody knows when we will be called but we must be ready.

Nobody knows when we will be called but we must be ready.

nice story ,but being ready means what ? it means submitting all things to God through his son ,absorbing as much knowledge of his truth as possible ,separate us from of which is of the flesh and the world ,fill our soul and heart and mind of what God wants ,and accept the holy spirit of truth “as the way of our life ,build a faith that no one can destroy and totally approved by God ,

Jn 3:21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

Jn 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”
Jas 1:25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.
Jas 1:26 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.
Jas 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Jas 2:8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right.
Jas 2:24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.

Jas 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
Jas 3:14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.

Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

no religion teaches this ,for they still enslave the flesh by rituals hoping that the people will believe that they are saved by it ,

To all that Jesus did not mean baptist all nations.

There is not one shred of evidence to support your claims and yet you choose to hold to them. You invent stories.

Very simply, Jesus commanded the Eleven to immerse all nations.

    It is an elementary teaching.

    Why don’t you believe him?

    hi,

Acts  tells us to be baptised for the forgiveness of our sins.

    How important is it?

Jesus warned the Pharisees they would die in their sins.

His friends  brought a paralysed man to Jesus and instead of healing him Jesus first forgave his sins.

    Then he healed him.

    Those are the divine priorities.

Cornelius was baptized with holy spirit before he was by men baptized in water ? tell us what would have happen if Peter would have not baptized them with water ? was it for the Jews that he run to the water to get them baptized ? for we know all the Jews have to repent for they have forseek they own God ,the gentiles never had him ,but to be saved the true worship has to be preached to them and that his what Paul did and for those that wanted to be baptized let them be baptized ,but id would not save them ,but living by the truth would ,(baptisme is not a truth )

it seems you needed baptism to really believe in Christ ,not all need this ritual ,

    terraricca,

Cornelius was baptized with holy spirit before he was by men baptized in water ? tell us what would have happen if Peter would have not baptized them with water ? was it for the Jews that he run to the water to get them baptized ?

    1) the bottom line is he was immersed in water so there is no evidence water immersion is not part Jesus’ teachings.
    2) It is not written that Cornelius was immersed in the Holy Spirit but only that it fell on him and others that heard Peter’s words.
    3) King Saul received the Spirit and became a new man and yet is not counted a Christian.(1 Samuel 10:6)

    Hi Ed:

What is necessary for salvation is that someone believes with repentant heart.  In other words, salvation is by faith so that it may be by grace not of works lest any man should boast.

Water baptism is a work of obedience to God showing that one has believed with a repentant heart.  Believers should be baptized in water thus making a public profession of their union with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection, if someone did not have the opportunity  to be baptized prior to his death after believing with a repentant heart, he would be saved.

Water baptism does not save anyone.

    Love in Christ,
    Marty

    Hi KW,

All men is authority have an anointing from God.

That does not mean they are one with God in the Holy Spirit.

    Terraricca,

Receiving the holy spirit means you are baptized in Jesus ,

Look for those words you used and you will not find them written in Scripture.

I don’t have to look and see if my own words are found in scriptures ;but

Jn 1:33 I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

Jn 20:22 And with that he(Jesus) breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

you don’t have to believe the scriptures if you have your own

    terrarica,

None of those passages say that receiving then Holy Spirit means you are baptized in Jesus and one even says the Holy Spirit landed on Jesus himself.

    Hi Nick,

I go up to the senior center to play pinocle with the seniors. Last year
I met a Methodist Preacher there and asked him if he would water baptize me.
If he said “in Jesus Name” during the water baptism, would that be a valid water baptism?

    Please answer

    Hi ed,

    There are no more apostles.

God knows the heart and the intentions.

The religion of the man involved was never relevant

    Hi Nick,

Would the use of a baptismal tank inside a Church building count for a valid water baptism?
