13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.[a]
How can it be both?
November 13, 2006 at 3:57 am#32345NickHassanParticipantHi sscott,
Jn 13
“John 3:13kjv
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
nasb
” 13″No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. “niv
“13No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.”
Footnotes:John 3:13 Some manuscripts Man, who is in heaven
So it is a manuscript choice by kjv which causes the confusion.

No one has ascended to heaven BUT he who came down from heaven.
I don't see the contradiction.

Hello Sscott!

Verily, verily, I say to you — What we have known we speak, and what we have seen we testify, and our testimony you do not receive; 3:12 if the earthly things I said to you, and you do not believe, how, if I shall say to you the heavenly things, will you believe? 3:13 and no one has gone up to the heaven, except he who out of the heaven came down — the Son of Man who is in the heaven.NKJV
Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man *who is in heaven. 14 And as MosesASV

No one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.Jesus came to preach the Gospel of the Kindom of Heaven.
Mk 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
The kingdom could be grasped!
Jesus said in Mk 4: 30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
[31] It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
[32] But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
[33] And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.The Kingdom of God is sown in the hearts of every born again believer in the body of Christ!
Jn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
[8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
[9] Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
[10] Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
[11] Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
[12] If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
[13] And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. The Kingdom has been sown in our hearts by the Word of God!
I Pet 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
[24] For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
[25] But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.Jesus said that certain ones would see the Kingdom come before they died!
Mk 9:And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
This is what they saw on the day of Penticost when they were endued with Power when the Holy Ghost and fire fell on them!
Matt 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
The greek word for Kingdom is basileia bas-il-i'-ah which means: 1) royal power, kingship, dominion, rule
The kingdom is within us! Now we as Jesus said must seek first that Kingdom and his righteousness and then every thing else will be added to us!
Seek his rulership in our hearts!
Matt 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Luke 17:20,21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Luk 17:20 And having been questioned by the Pharisees, when the reign of God doth come, he answered them, and said, `The reign of God doth not come with observation;
Luk 17:21 nor shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.'But as the parrable states the Kindom is like a grain of mustard that will grow until all the fowls of the air come to lodge under the shadow of it, So shall the Kngdom come when Jesus returns in power and great Glory to establish his rule in all the earth through his people the overcomers. And his Glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea!
So the Spirit and the Bride says come even so come quickly Lord Jesus! Thy Kingdom come and thy will be done!
Blessings.

Hi ssc,
copied“If the apostles only wrote one original copy of the manuscripts then all variations from those originals are incorrect.
So looking at Jn 3 in the kjv
“13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. “
compare niv
“13No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[a]”Footnotes:
John 3:13 Some manuscripts Man, who is in heaven .
SOME manuscripts suggests few. So why were they chosen? Because they were with the textus receptus?”
November 13, 2006 at 11:48 pm#32387sscottParticipantthat thinking opens a huge can of worms. one can then essentialy dismatle any doctrine and just say the scriptures we have are in error.
November 14, 2006 at 12:09 am#32388NickHassanParticipantHi sscott,
Doctrine is true or not.
Not all doctrines are of God, some are of rebellious tradition.
Something is true if the scriptures say so and witnessing scriptures agree.Jn 17
” 17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. “2Cor 13
” 1This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. “OIf you find a stand alone verse that seems odd God wants us to search more deeply.
Prov 25
” 2It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”1Thess 5
” 21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good”2Peter 3
“15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.”
November 14, 2006 at 12:24 am#32389NickHassanParticipantHi sscott,
Which is safer? Finding the truth for youself or following men?Matt 15
“Matthew 15:14
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”Proverbs 5:15
