A man who goes fishing is not necessarily a fisherman. A man in Christ who sins is not necessarily a sinner. Yes we are all sinners by nature, but at the end of our lives we are judged as either righteous or sinners. So do not practice evil, rather practice good and be led by the Spirit of God. Be clothed in the righteousness of Christ.
Sin is a river that sweeps you away, but God makes it possible for you to resist.
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
You have the knowledge of right or wrong. Conscience is the following:

science = knowledge.With this, you can choose to either fulfill the lusts of the flesh or be led by the Spirit of God. You have the choice because no matter the strength of the temptation, God will give you an escape, but is up to you to CHOOSE it.
Imagine fighting against a powerful river current and are being swept away, but then God also provides a current to counter it. In one sense, you are in still peaceful water and can go anyway you want. But if you focus on the powerful current against you, then you will be swept away. So focus on God, now you have the strength to make a choice and go through with it. God doesn’t double the current so you are swept away into making the right decision. He gives you a fighting chance. Up to you.
By renewing our minds to think what the word of God says we should think.
Romans 12:1-3
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
This is stated in other passages in scripture as well.
