Hi Wm,
What bible version is that verse of 2Timothy 2:14-15 quoted from in your signature?

Hope that helps.

Actually “I don't know” doesn't really help, but thanks for you input.

I know this topic is a couple of years old, but thought I would ask.
While reading postings on this topic I saw that you like the version AKJV of the Bible. What does the ‘A’ stand for? I generally use the NKJV which is the New King James Version for its readability and being very close to the KJV. I also check other versions when I am researching information in the Bible.
RichardApril 8, 2016 at 10:27 am#811555ProclaimerParticipantActually the AKJV is the version that EdJ prefers, I have no preference. I usually look at the NIV and NASB myself.
AKJV stands for Authorized King James Version.

April 8, 2016 at 11:04 am#811557kerwinParticipantI also have no preference as all of them are biased if for no other reason that translating from an original language to English invokes mysteries and each expert resolves them according to their bias. Some of them try to resolve that problem by using a democratic solution but it only gives the most popular translation in the group.
April 8, 2016 at 12:29 pm#811569Ed JParticipantHi Kerwin,
Not true – most of all the modern translations were translated from the corrupt “nestle text”
Which itself is a blending of two corrupted Greek texts: “textus vaticanus” and “textus sinaiticus”
The first printing of the “Textus Receptus” is un-corrupted – without 1John 5:7 (which was added in later)
The “AKJV Bible” was translated from the second printing of the “Textus Receptus” (which has 1John 5:7 added in)_______________
God bless

April 15, 2016 at 3:03 pm#811889ProclaimerParticipantWell it has been a year on the new server and I am not impressed.
Looking at moving once again.
My other server seems fast now, I am wonder if I should try and place the site back there.
If not, WP-Engine looks like a good bet, but they prefer databases to be under 1Gig. This site is over 2.5..
April 15, 2016 at 4:34 pm#811903terrariccaParticipantit is still very slow on my end
